* Karol and Julie, please view your PM

** JPLock,
I am planning on taking Hwy 380 to 75 north which turns into hwy 69. I'll take hwy 62 up to I-44. At that point 62 turns into 75. I'll take that on into Tulsa.

What is the condition of hwy 62. Is that a sparce area?

Todah,
If you are going to bypass OK City. The best way to come is take 380 from Denton to Hiway 75 north. The go through Sherman/Dennison, Durrant, Atoka, then just before you come to McCalister OK take the Indian Nations Turnpike to Tulsa and on to I44. If you do that you will miss meeting up with Julie in OK City. Were you wanting to meet up with us later Friday?
jplock

PS Look out for the Radar trap in Tushka just before Atoka and especially the Radar Trap in Stringtown after Atoka, it's leathal. They love to ticket Texans which paid for their nice Squad cars.

JPLock,

Thanks for the directions.

I am planning on leaving early Friday. I am planning on by-passing OK City. I would like to meet up with Julie and Karol in Tulsa if possible.

Julie and Karol, do you all want to try and meet at Quick Trip in East Tulsa at the Garnett Exit off I44 (the original place that JPLock recommended)?

Wow, the location you mention here is no more than a mile from my brother's house in Tulsa. Matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the same location I used to get back on I44 to head home after having dropped down to Tulsa to see my brother after having attended the ITG in Minden last year. So that part of Tulsa has seen a teardrop already 8) ;)

Todah-
I agree with jplock on the directions he gave you. That is a good route to Tulsa. We will meet up with you in Tulsa. It should be a great weekend! Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Yup, that's the route I took on my way out of Tulsa on my return trip home June 29 2005. I drove north on Garnett, under the freeway and hooked a left turn to head south west on I 44 w/teardrop in tow. I guess the next time I'm back in that area with the teardrop I'll have to try to hook up with some of you Oklahoma teardroppers. 8) Too bad your gathering wasn't closer to Eureka, I might have made an effort to join you all.....

I'm computer-less at home , so three days without the forum += :?

But worked on the Jewel Box.
Now, it is going to be coming to Grand Lake, hell or high water, but might look kinda tacky since it's not close to done. But you all are kind enough not to laugh at me , right?

We got lots of rain all weekend , so hopefully the campfires will happen !

I'll pm or call you girls, Karol and Todah.... and we'll work out a plan.
Maybe meet either there at Garnett or sooner, me and Karol could meet up at Wellston/Stroud and such.

Let's go campin! !!!! :ilovecamp: :campfire:

I am for using the TD as you are building! It helps you decided what you need and don't need. It also helps you know where to fix leaks, rattles, or something that plain don't work. Only airplanes have to be completely finished before take off. They say a teardrop is never completely finished. Have a good day!

Hahahaha..... yeah, it might just look kinda funny going down the road.
I never have even checked with the tag office about it... so if it's not done , then it will really look like I"m just hauling wood ! haha

No , really. I went to lunch today and got some 1/2" angle for the hinge side of the door so I can at least get that on and get the doors hung this weekend. Not sure if they will stay shut -- hahaha...we'll see.

I'm trying to concentrate on just what HAS to be done in order to sleep okay, and travel okay in it.

In Oklahoma Utility trailers do not require a liscense. Since these are not manufactored RV's I am pulling mine as a utility trailer. RickXR2 is doing the same thing. you can pickup an affidavit from your local tag agency. This states that in Oklahoma utility trailers do not require liscense, this will be handy if you get stopped out of state for no liscense. You can keep it with the trailer.

****** WEATHER *******

Okay, y'all..... I checked on weatherchannel.com for the 10 day forecast of Grove, Oklahoma. That is the closest city of any size to this state park.

I'm sad now..... during this week, it looks good and then this coming weekend they have 40-60% chance of rain, just like OKC. Then Mon Tues Wed of next week, looks sunny.

Then Thur Sep 14 Grove Ok has a 60% chance of rain... okay, not so bad... muddy.....

Then FRI SEP 15 Grove OK has a 40% chance of rain .... SHOOT!!! :x

Don't have any idea what Sat & Sun will have.....

So what do y'all think? It usually happens that you have a downpour one day, then it's nice the next. But I have no idea what this Ernesto tail is bringing .....

:x
