Well Jules, you know us, the Bluebonnet tear goes anywhere regardless of the weather. We've even thought about adding pontoons this year.(Just kidding) If ya'll need the rain as much as we do down here I think we can just live with it. It'll be a great weekend.

Julie, the weather guessers can't predict two days in advance right, let alone 10 days out!! I "might" get concerned on Wednesday the 13th. Otherwise, don't be too wound up about it. It is what it will be........ rain or shine.

TIMING

Postby CPASPARKS » Thu Sep 07, 2006 12:58 pm

Due to the voluminous posts by some members...I don't know how they even have time for their jobs or families.
If they would stay off the computer...maybe they would get their tears fininshed.
If this post offends you....I must be talking about you!

Okay alll ..... IT'S A WEEK AWAY !!!!! RAIN OR SHINE.....

Actually Friday looks like a 40% chance of rain, not much chance for Saturday and clear .... Sunday clear and no rain !! Cross your fingers!!!

POTLUCK --- Okay, Trudy's famous for dutch oven cooking, Dave & Cindy are smokin... a turkey that is, I'm planning on a banana pudding .
If anyone has a folding table that will probably help for the Sat night dinner. I hope to be there around noon - 2pm.....

I'll try to post directions later today ....

Don't forget, I'm bringing chilled watermelon (ice permitting).

I don't have a dutch oven, but maybe I can do "hot water cornbread".

Is the burn ban still on or has that been covered?

Hey Ron !!! Kewl !!! Didn't get to see ya much at Beavers Bend.

I think I'll be stuck in a tent once again, unless magic happens this week.

WEATHER:
I happened to check three or four websites and found most say this same thing from the nat'l weather service :
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

Friday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 89.

FOOD
Thanks Trudy for offering Sat a.m. breakfast..I'll try to bring something along to go with it. Sat night is potluck - whatever you wanna bring is fine. Look back at the thread to see what is already covered.

GETTING THERE

If you're coming from TX, OKC or Tulsa area , from the Will Rogers Turnpike exit at Vinita on Hwy 60 east. Then take 85A east thru the little town of Bernice and you'll go over the water before seeing the park on your left.
If you're coming from say, KC or Missouri... from the Will Rogers Turnpike (toll road) and exit at Afton and take Hwy 59 south and then follow Hwy 125 south/west , it's just a little curvy , and then take Hwy 85A to the park. I think you'll pass the Daryl Starbird Museum and the park is ahead on the right. I do remember you will see the pavilion , etc then the park entrance. Remember $18 per night (sr. discount $2). I got prepay's from Todah and DaveL , anyone else just pay when the ranger comes around or call Sherry at 1-918-786-9447 that morning if ya want.
We really should be about the only ones there. WHOEVER GETS THERE FIRST , get over in the most shaded area away from the swim beach! haha

The city of GROVE is not too far away, just around the Sailboat Bridge and around the other side of the water, and that's a bigger town with stores, etc. Not a WalMart though...
JPLOCK or REORON or RICKXR2..... tell me if those directions are wrong!!!

The directions are correct, whichever way you are coming from. We're hoping to leave Broken Arrow between 10:00 and Noon, love to convoy with someone.

RATS!!! RATS!!! RATS!!!

Looks like another plan to attend a gathering has blown up in my face.
Quite literally this time. The engine in my Dodge truck took a big nose dive. :x

Can you say "huge hole in the side of the engine"? Seems a rod decided to part company with the rest of the engine.

I hope to at least go to the QT meeting place on Friday to take a look at a few tears and meet a few teardroppers.

Things can't get any worse can they?????
