Trailer lights converter problem

First thing to do is clean the contacts on both trailer and tow. These things are notorious for bad connections.

coldbeer,

I'm pretty certain that if a tranisitor blows its blown, kaput.

I've done enough of these to suspect the plug on the trailer. Cuz if you have 12v at the outlet plug on the car and you drop to 1v at the trailer then it is either your plug or the ground on the trailer.

Me too, about 15 years worth and the connection or a ground is usually the culprit.

Might be time to see if there is a "factory" wiring option and dump converter concept....

I don't like converters and have probably blow up more than I have had sucesses with....
