Postby sftiggee » Sat Sep 23, 2006 12:06 am

Well, my bf and i went on a huge road trip for my sabbatical and took the tear to Yellowstone, Tetons, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Rocky mountains, Carhenge, Pompey's pillar, Teddy Roosevelt NP, Badlands, Crazyhorse, and Mt. Rushmore. Whew, it was a long, fun trip.

Anyhoo, while on our trip, i started getting pukey, which i attributed to Colorado's high altitude. Well, it turns out we have a bun in the oven.

So, for those who go to the Dam Gathering, next year there will be a new lil teardropper there. EEEEEEEK!!!!!

Jolene,

What a great trip. The pictures and memories will make for great times and stories for the little one. Thanks for sharing the news with all the teardrop aunties and uncles.....

Congrats Jolene,

Don't sell the Camp Inn ! Buy a dog house for the dog,or add an SUV tent. The child won't want to sleep with you guys in 5 short years anyway, and won't be big enough to crowd you out by then. I envy your child, growing up going camping. We only got into camping in our late 40's,and missed years of fun. Now the burning question: was the child conceived in the Camp Inn,because Cary will have another first for his product. LOL Congratulations

Congratulations on the teardrop bambino! I wonder if we need to start warning folks that camping in teardrops is known to cause pregnancy?

hahaha:)

well, we think the child was conceived sometime between my birthday and the trip, not on the trip, so no need to warn people about a possible teardrop/pregnancy connection. however, warn folks that birthdays and anniversaries and pre-megatrip celebrations can possibly be dangerous!!!

my boyfriend was kinda hoping we had conceived in Yellowstone becase it would make a great story, but i was apparently already in a motherly way by the time we got there. we could always fib i suppose..... :)

I doubt we'll get rid of the tear, i'm sure we'll go the tent route once little one gets older and i dunno how many camping trips other than teardrop events we'll be able to make those first few years anyway.

my boyfriend is gonna be annoyed though, because i spilled the beans already. we haven't informed our families yet because he is still trying to figure out how to tell his very christian friends and family that he'll be having a child out of wedlock. i'm glad my family are a bit more relaxed about that. we are also waiting until after our Oct. 6 prenatal exam, when we hope to get an ultrasound and all that good stuff.

now my house, which was a perfect size when i bought it, seems small. eeeeek!!! methinks there will be big changes in the next year or so!!!

Are you going to have a name the baby contest here? I vote for Teedy (TD) or Campi. My sister in law conceived in our standy trailer while they were waiting for escrow to close on their house, man we had (still have) a blast razzin her about that! Just cant look at that kid or the trailer without chuckling.

Jolene,

Congratulatiuons! It sounds like it's the road trip that's the cause.

My parents spent their honeymoon doing a figure-8 across the US visiting prisons (my Dad's work) and civil war battlefields (his hobby). They reckoned the point of conception was the Pennsylvania monument at Gettysburg and my mother only just succeeded in preventing my brother being named Richard Pennsylvania Gibbens, as my father wanted.....

I grew up on stories of where my mother puked. My father held her ankles so that she could puke down the Grand Canyon and the whole family has a strong aversion to wide-necked Thermos (insulated) flasks since that's what she used to avoid excess stops when they went for a one day record of 640 miles.
