Ideal doors

Postby Jimbo » Mon Sep 25, 2006 3:55 pm

I found these http://tinyurl.com/qy4bd on ebay and they look like the perfect TD or TTT doors. Only thing is, they seller wants 138.00 to ship it one state over. He lists them as "Fun Doors" for a fifth wheel but does anyone know what the technical name is or where one could find them?

Thanks

Coop just gave you a link to RVsurplus. I just wanted to put my two cents in. I just purchased two 14" square baggage doors from those people and I am very impressed. The doors are mill finish aluminum. They are insulated and watertight with chrome slam catches that lock. The hinges are incredibly strong. I can't wait to install them.

If you buy an entry door from them it will probably be of the same high quality. The only fault I see with the doors from e-bay is that there is no trim ring with them. The trick with doors is to be sure they seal the water out. You need a trim ring to make that happen.

If it were me, I would order from a company. They have a bigger desire to keep you satisfied. Because you then recommend them to others. As I have just done. . . Call RV Surplus and ask for their door expert. Let him sell you a fine product.

I've actually purchased from RVSurplus before and I couldn't agree more. They go out of their way to satisfy the customer. I should have thought to check there first. ;) I actually want to plan a trip up there to check out their warehouse.

Because of the size of the doors, they probably have to go "double or triple oversized". This really jacks up the price, but I think that $138 is a bit high, should be closer to $90. I've shipped bulky items on the bus pretty cheaply, but a lot of sellers don't want to mess with alternative shipping.

Isn't 44 1/2" high too tall for a TD anyway?
