Great weekend Fishing

SteveT... I'v got a friend who likes to shark fish from a little yak off Jacksonville Beach... He has a wall full of shark jaws, some you can stick your head through! I really don't see how he fits his gonads in the kayak with him.

I saw him hook onto a big ray once and slowly dissapear over the horizon...

I admire him... But that ain't for me. I like trout fishin in the mountains.

I'm just a simple walleye fisherman..... Those fish look fun.... And that place looks even better....... Is a 4 wheel drive necessary to get out on that beach, or would a 2 wheel drive truck do it?

Do you surf cast at night out there? And if you do, is it good fishing?

That can change on a daily basis. The weekend of the seminar there were cars on the beach.
We went 3 weeks ago and it was 2 wheel freindly when we got there on Friday, but when we left Sunday there was no getting out without 4wd. It depends alot on the rain. If it rains it's 2wd. If it doesn't the sand gets soft and you must have 4wd.
We surf cast for bait. (whiting and croaker)
In the morning there will be trout in the surf.
At night we use the long rods with the bait yakked out past the 3rd bar.

I can't believe you can pull fish up like that in a KAYAK. But where the heck do you stow the BEER!?
