Dang this could turn huge like those bass fishin shows. You guys get some vests with patches all over them like Orkin, Raid, and Kills all Traps. We could narrate in whisper voices. You all hold the moles up, we weigh them and we have like a "mole catchin tournament!"

Not moles, but I know another way to exterminate critters.

DANG...And I don't have any moles to kill to get into the new show. I have something that domeimes makes holes and little mounds of dirt in my yard, but the holes are no more than an inch in diameter. I don't know what the heck makes them. It sure as heck ain't moles.

I just bought a new outdoor hat with ear flaps, that should work good. Maybe we could get Binford to sponser the show. I think Boodro should be the Tim character , since he found the trap. I can be Al , I already have a nice collection of plaid shirts.

Yea woodbutcher , we could call the trap the "Binford 9000 series Super Mole Masher " Just look at the way the moles gets mashed! What do you think AL ???

It sure does a number on them does'nt it? Very satisfied feeling when ya go to pull it out of the ground! All I can say is " GOTCHA YA , YA LITTLE BAS***D !!!

I caught 1 mole by the very tip of his nose once. He was still dead when I pulled him out. Another time I got one by the front foot , he was dead to when he came out. so it seems to kill them no matter how it gets them.

Good Huntin Al !!!!

Hiedi , my mole trap please !!

Hey, a 500# cluster bomb dropped from 15,000ft should take care of those critters, and everything else in the neighborhood.LOL

My dad had an old spring trap, worked great. Trick is to roll or flatten all trails. Place the spring trap ahead of the critter{heaved ground} about 5-10' ahead of the direction of travel. They use the same trails, and the trigger must be on flattened ground. If you use a yard roller they will start to dig back up just after putting the roller away. Have to watch the trap,as they will dig another direction once the forks of the trap have set. Dig with a shovel either front or behind the trap, and flip up the trap with the divot. They don't run well,so whack them with the shovel. My Dad used to stalk them like Elmer for Bugs, and us kids got a big kick out of whacking them. Also had a rat terrier dog that would dig them up. To keep them out we used a poison bait placed in the entrances to our yard to kill off newcomers. Not sure they sell that poison anymore, unless professionally applied. I don't have moles because my ground is full of rocks, and they get tired of bumping their heads, seriously.

And not to worry Dale, we don't plan on having a contest based on mole killings! Good thing!!!

Tim,
I only have 1 kill so far so I will defer to you on the show details. You have shown to be a skilled "killer" but you have not told us about all the trips to the ER. OH, OH. OOOH!

OK I went through all 4 pages of mole killing & got lots of ideas, but I will stay with my tried & true way. Its called juicy fruit gum. Put on some rubber gloves to hide your smell, open the gum & roll it up in a little tube. Find a twig about the size of a pencil poke a hole in there tunnel & put the gum in. I use a large package all over the yard anywhere I find a tunnel. Within 3 days all mole activity will stop. They dont like mint gum, just fruit. I think its called constipation.
The impossable just takes longer & cost more.

Don't have moles, too much rock around here. But what I do have is an armadillo that is tearing up my yard I just put down sod (Flortam St Augustine) in June and that dillo is tearing things up. There can not be any bugs there as I have put lots a bug killer down. He is a sneeky guy too. I even left the dog out for a week (he loves them armadillos) and still fresh holes. Other than an all night stake out what can I do to get rid of this bugger.

That sounds like shrews to me, I have a bunch of them around here myself.
