Two doors or one??? Poll...

Hey guys, just wondering, did you go with a door on each side or a door on one side and a window on the other?? And why??

I havent even gotten to my floor yet but I have researched for a year now. 2 doors are better than one. It all comes down to not having to climb over your partner. If you have a single person camper than you would be fine. bye

I'm going with two doors. When camping where bathrooms and showers are not handy, I'm going to have a tarped enclosure one one side of the trailer. So, that second door will be used as an exit into a private showering area with a pota-pottie.
When camping at state and county parks, where those facilities are provided, (providing that you have enough quarters with you to feed the coin-op shower) that second door will be the kids designated door.

Two doors, trust me you don't want to climb over someone (wife) and not have to hear about it the rest of the night. Or have her climb over you when your sleeping it is a real drag. It just makes sense that two people have there own way in and out at night and not disturbed each other to much, especially when one of you is tired and goes to bed early

I agree with everyones statements about two doors being better than one. It is a pain to have to crawl over someone, or have someone crawl over you in the middle of the night. Been there, done that.

However, everything has a cost/benefit balance, and for the purpose I am building my teardrop, I will be by myself 99% of the time, if not 100%, so I am building with one door and a window. I am building my trailer to camp at RC flyins, a function my wife DOES NOT attend.

Everytime I consider getting rid of my van, the big thing is how will I carry planes with a 7 foot wingspan (I have an 80" that does not break down into 2 pieces).....

No, I have full sized pickup that I will be using as the tow/haul vehicle. Although I fly planes also, most of the flyins I go to are helicopter flyins and I have built a special rack in the back of the truck, which by the way is covered, that allows me to haul all the rest of my junk under the helis.

The reason I decided to go with a Teardrop is that most of the flyins are from four to six hours drive and I didn't want to haul a large trailer that far for a two day event.

One good reason I can think of for only one door is if you're attaching an inside table to a wall. When you want to make the bed you'll thank yourself for having two doors and when it's hot both can be opened for great cross ventilation. Also when a bear is coming in one door to visit you can be exiting the other.

I have a few rc planes myself, two electric P51's, a (glow) Hobbico superstar, and I have all the parts to rebuild a spad, if I ever get the time. I wanted to get into heli's but I figured I would learn first with the fixed wing, then maybe get a Pico, something small to learn with.

One day I was installing an overhead microwave. I kept hearing this funny noise thru the vent. When I went back outside to turn the power back on I saw my neighbor flying his heli. He was much better than my old college roommate, doing loops rolls and other 3D moves. I went over and talked to him, he was telling me a story about his old flying buddy Curtis. Later, I found out that it was Curtis Youngblood. I knew the name from my roommate. I thought, when you have a flying buddy like that, you'd better be pretty good.

I am going with two doors, for the same reason that Dean gave. I plan to make a tarp enclosure, similar to what Gage has, for the one side. His design seems like a pretty easy one for diy'ers, a simple "T" shape design that can button to the tear side.

All of this chat about two doors has me thinking,,,How could a table be utilized, as, in the Lil'Diner, with two doors. I have two in the stripper, and really like them! I wonder about two doors with the table on a pedistal??? Any thoughts? Photos? I'm about to the point of "no return" on my framework. I could make the change easily now, not so..later

Pete & Lynn that went with us to Davidson River and Myrtle Beach has a set up like the little diner. Dropped floor and a table on a pedistal. Don't have any pictures of the inside, but it looked real good. Maybe can send you some.
