Hey... stjohn... Compared to the Honda VTX forum I also frequent, this one is incredibly civilized and polite... yea!

Over at VTXOA.com we have to suffer through all kinds of "trolls" and other assorted whackos. I guess it comes with success? That forum has over 30,000 members now!
Still, by and large, a great bunch of guys over there too. I guess it all just keeps life interesting tho...

On edit: Is this for your boat, Gage? If so the first thing is to see if a polish won't bring it up. If it's really bad, you might also sand it, starting at, say, 800 grit, before polishing.

If you're thinking of gelcoat as an alternative to paint, it's the hard way to go and a lot of little detail (non-slip deck surface?) would be completely lost.

Yep, that's what I'm asking about. Got a lot of the paint scraped off. Still a lot more to scrape and sand. Just looking at my options. Because of all the spider webbing I'm finding, I'm going to need something to fill. Guess I'll use some filler prime, sand and then paint.

Thanks for the info Andrew, have a good day.
