My Battery / Tongue Box - Build Progress Added

I am building a battery box using the scrap leftover from my floor. As usual, I am waiting for payday to get started on the sides walls, but in the mean time I am getting some practice with my skill saw and other tools for the main build.




Not to shabby, but not perfect, for only my third time with a skill saw AND making 45 degree cuts to boot... (lots-o-wood filler)

I will post pics when I get'er done!!

Wow, great job!!
Those are some clean cuts/joins. I wish I were that handy with a saw, I've used almost as much wood filler as real wood, LOL!

Ira, Thanks!! I know that's a compliment coming from you!!!
I think I just got lucky, really. I'm using up my beginners luck now, so when I do get to building on the TD I'll screw it all up I'm sure.

If I can get the lid on right, I'm just going to seal it with exterior primer paint and then spray paint it glossy black to match the trailer. Honestly, I expect to be replacing it in the future. I wanted a curved top box, like you see on some, but that was over my head...for now.

Loking very good. Filler and sanders are a woodworker's best friend. In fact, we are not so much woodworkers as we are wood sanders.

By the way, if a flaw doesn't show itself in a picture, or in person from 4 feet away, you get to call the work craftsmanship. Good work Mary K(raftsman).

...Who is frustrated. Had a little brake line leak in my little toy car. Turned into replacing ALL the brake lines... dangit. Messin up my teardrop time.

Brick, thank you too! Just going to seal it with primer, and paint with some glossy black spray paint, after I sand and sand and sand it!!

Sorry to hear of your woes, I hate it when something interferes with my treadrop time!!! I was outside just now working on the "box" and its all windy and rainy, and I hear this crrrrraaaaaack!!! Its half my beautiful river birch Its trunk is a V and one side of the V broke off

The 2 SH are new, but I got them right before I started building. But I still have to use them an old ratty table for the big stuff.
