I've never seen these Self-centering drill bits in any of the local hardware stores. So where do you find them.

SmokeyBob

HF carries them

3 PC. HINGE DRILL BIT SET

Never miss the center of the hole again! These self-centering drill bits put hinges right where they should be--in the center. Three popular sizes to drill through metal, plastic, wood and more.

A center punch works well for hinges too. Just tap it with a hammer and you have a starter hole ready for pre-drilling.
