2 Car Stereos for sale

Postby lcurrie » Sat Oct 21, 2006 5:43 pm

I have 2 car stereos that i pulled out of our cars to replace them with ipod compatible models.

I know a lot of folks are putting stereos in their TDs so i thought i'd post them here.

They both are in good working condition. Both play CDs, even ones with MP3s burned on them.

I'd like $30 for each one and that will include USPS shipping.

One is a Pioneer DEH-2300, full specs here:
http://www.epinions.com/613129_Pioneer_ ... full_specs

The other is a JVC KD-SX990, full specs here (this one comes with a remote). This one is also particularly sweet because it has an aux input (1/4" stereo jack input) on front for plugging in external devices like iPods, etc.:
http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?model ... chive=true

The pack rat in me says "keep em! you might need them someday!" but the wanna-be minimalist in me says, "out they go!"

I'm sure they'll make someone very happy.

Just got a JVC radio that has the USB port on it....Love it! Also got the adapter for the iPod. I can play music from the thumb drive, iPod, mp3 CD, or radio.

Found one problem, if I use a large capacity flash drive, say 1 or 2 gig and I only have the car on for a short time, it will start back at the beginning when I turn it back on.

I picked one up at Wallyworld a few months back for my car that has the USB port, a slot for some type of memory card (up to 4 gig I think) a jack for the ipod (came with the cable too) and it plays mp3 and just about anything else you can thro at it. Also has RCA jacks on the back for Aux input. Pretty cool for 80 bucks. Not sure what name's on it, might be Xtreme?? Sounds pretty good for the price, tho I'm not one of those bass thumping deafen yourself peoples so maybe that's why it sounds good.

I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread, but AsianFlava take a look at the under-cabinet unit I just installed. I got it from Target. It is a DVD/CD player w/a 10" screen. It has an AM/FM radio and is TV capable (has a connector for cable or an antenna.)

I got mine for about $189 on sale (I'm going from memory), but another guy found a 7" refurbished Sony for $179 or so. I think mine was on sale because it is a discontinued brand for Target.

An overhead mount monitor or an undercounter unit is what I originally planned on using but I have some clearance issues with the cabinet it would mount to. I'm still looking at different options.

AsianFlava,

I did have to design (rig) a mounting plat because it is intended to go under a cabinet and I did not want to drill through the roof of the Tear to mount (count up the cost  ). But the plate was simple, a couple of L-brackets and a light-weight strong piece of board. I drilled the bolt pattern of the unit throught the board and va-la! The trick was to get the lazy susan mounted in a manner that would allow it to still rotate.
