They will allow one trailer and a tent per site. Some sites are bigger than others. I guess if one had to. One could double up and hide the other with a canopywith side walls or something or a tent and play it off as a tent. But you didn't hear it from me

So if someone's soft-siding it, they can probably squeeze in with me.

Ira.......we are stopping one night in S.C. The motel rates are cheaper than Ga but then we will get gas in Ga since it's cheaper than Fl. Don't want to give Fl to much of my money in it's taxes.

Dennis, do you guys come down 95? If so, have you ever heard of South of the Border, right at the NC/SC border?

It's the hokiest, cheeziest, most gawdy resort stop in the world--and I LOVE it. And they have 100 camp site with hook-ups.

Here's a link to review, because I can't find THEIR site:

How can you not hear of it. It seems like they have signs every 20miles for hundreds of miles in either direction. One thing's for shure, "You Never Sausage a Place!"

That's true:

If you drive down 95, you HAVE to know about it.

That link I supplied says that those billboards start in BALTIMORE!!! And they have HUNDREDS of them!

I never made a northbound drive out of Florida, so I haven't seen the billboards going in the other direction.

Its OK. come to florida, spend your money and pay our taxes.

But remember.........when you drive through Georgia and South Carolina make sure you go like a bat out of hell. But once you cross the Florida line you cant go over 35mph no matter where you are. And be sure to point at a lot of stuff too while in the car.
LOL

And don't forget, when driving in Florida if you are from another state, you are required to drive slow in the left lane with your right blinker on :x

A couple of month's ago, when the temp was soaring, my wife laughed at me for suggesting we might need blankets or a heater at Anastasia in Nov. This morning, she was singing a different tune. With the outside temp at 50 degrees when we got up, she said "we'll probably freeze up there on the ocean". I said don't worry, we've got the little ceramic heater I use in my bathroom. Of course, she said she'd be afraid that we'd burn the camper down.

"Why?" I asked. "It's a ceramic model, and flame proof; It can't start a fire". Oh, with further conversation, it becomes more clear. It's my trailer wiring that worries her. Since I'm not an electrician, then the wiring must be amateurish, therefore, faulty and we'll have an electrical fire and burn it down around us.

Despite my assurances that I've overbuilt for safety with 12 ga. wire, she still thinks my camper isn't up to par with the pros. She doesn't want to cook inside either with a propane stove either. Why? Same reason...the camper will go up in flames like it's made of paper. She seems to ignore the fact that most small TTTs are made basically of wood and have the same chance of going up in smoke if one is careless with open flames.

I think that she is still trying to let me know that dragging her out into the wilds for a camping trip just isn't her bag. This will either be the only time I get to get her to go camping, or, maybe, just maybe, she'll kind of like it and It'll be easier next time.

Seriously though, her health is slowly, but steadily declining (but, please don't let her know I told you that). She doesn't have a lot of energy to spare, but I think she is up to this trip even if she doesn't. Her doctor thinks it's a good idea to get her outdoors more and get more exercise, and so do I. I keep telling myself that I'm really doing this for her sake. I do believe that, don't I???

Dale,

Sorry to hear about your wife and I agree with the your doctor. Fres hair is always good and you have let her know that it is not a camping trip but an adventure together like when we were first married, who knows what we are going to see and if she does not go she will miss out on Ira's stories of misadventure

Besides beachcombing is very good exercise.

Dale, from what we've heard on this site, she won't be disappointed by the weekend. Just don't tell her that I'LL be there, and she'll feel better.

Yeah--brrrrrrrrrrrr!!! 59 this morning down here, but you know as well as I do that these cold snaps come and go. But I'm picking up the same kind of ceramic heater myself at Wal-Mart to be safe.

By the way, since a TD is so tiny, there has to be away to mount it outside of the cabin and still work, right? Like in my galley?
