Got some more done this afternoon. After assembling the wall framing on a jig, I trimmed with a router. I tried out an idea I had to make the roof ledge, and the roof spar fillers in one step. I tested it out on my window side frame, just in case I messed up! Here's the result! I'll cut this into sections to fill in between the roof spars.

I'll place the headliner on that ledge, then the roof spars, filling in with sections of that piece on top of the pile. That's the jig on the bottom of the stack.

That's pretty nifty Steve, cutting both the ledge and the spar fillers in 1 step.

So from the outside skin how many layer of wood are there?

1) 1/4" Birch/Cherry
2) 3/4" furring strip
3) roof ledge layer
4) spar fillers

Is that right or are the furring strip and the roof ledge one and the same?

The wall assembly is:
1; Exterior panel, glassed
2; Furring/frame/ledge/roof spar fillers, all the same layer.
3; 1/4" ply interior finish..(Do you still want Birch?)
4; Headliner will sit on the ledge, with the roof spars on top, screwed to that ledge..No exposed screws.

Um, I never thought! The plans for the Stripper called for two layers of 1/8" on the roof..Easier to bend?? I wonder if it's needed? It ended up severe overkill, as I covered it in 1/4" strips The wall is just one exterior, one interior skin over a foam/furring layer.

P.S. I'm thinking that I'll need two layers in order to get the final layer on with out fasteners..(glued on). Mike mentioned, during his visit here, having the roof blend into the sides, covered in 'glass. I'd like to do it, if I can! HMM, How to blend that joint?? More Ideas??

Well, we have doors! I always worry about cutting the doors, especially, someone else's. That's over!
I got the window wall of Mike and Michelle's 'Diner done yesterday, My door wall today, 'cause it's next in the pile! I'll get the others done this week, between rehersals for the Christmas week's music..

OK! I'm a little scared of that air conditioner! I think we'll need to revisit that discussion..I'm wondering how to marry that unit to the roof???
