Music Trivia

Postby Jst83 » Wed Nov 01, 2006 3:46 pm

:M Here's one we were trying to come up with at work. Maybe someone can help me.

In the late 60's early 70's there was a song out all we can remember is that there was a reporter interviewing an astronaut and all the answers where clips from songs. The one line that comes to mind is he asks what are you going to take with you, and the answer was :M My green tamborine

Any one remember this and have any clues for me. Thanks it's been bugging me now it's bugging everyone at work.

Please Help Thanks Scott

There were a few of them by the same guy, but it wasn't a group. Just someone who produced something in the studio using exisiting song clips.

And the one "answer" he got to one of his "questions" that I remember to this very day was from the song:

"Leave me alone.
"Leave me alone.
"Leave me alone.
"Leave me alone.
"Why don't you leave me alone."

Hehe, I used to have that on a 45. I'm not sure if I still have it or not. I'll look in a little while. I had forgot all about that!

Well, I searched through all my old 45's but it's not in there. Sorry Scott.
I do remember however it was on the "Buddah Records" label. I did find "They're coming to take me away" by Napoleon the 16th   It's been a long time since I've looked at all those records.

Thanks Mark that's the name I've been able to find a few songs in the same style but not the exact name of that one. I think it might be Luna Trip he did a song by that title.

Ira, Sure was Helen Reddy doing that song.

If you want a bit more music trivia have a play with these.

Who is Reg Dwight?
Why did MC Hammer get dragged through the Courts over his "U Can't Touch This"
Who is Vincent Furnier?

Cheers

My guess would be for copyright violations for using sound samples from the song 'Super Freak'.

Haven't a clue. But then, as everyone knows, if you remember the '60s, you weren't there... :peace:

All questions answered correctly apart from Rich's response to the one on MC Hammer.

If you'd like some more, just let me know.
