Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Sorry--My vote is no on the new number avatars

Postby Ira » Thu Nov 02, 2006 2:26 pm

They're distracting--just big gold numbers on top of our beautiful faces and TDs. Plus the fact that they're redundant, since our avatars dynamically update our number of posts anyway.

I appreciate the the never-ending efforts to make this site better. REALLY!

But this change--I vote kill it.
Here we go again!

I think the numbers are fine if you want them but what I think makes this site unique is the special titles that people have - Storyteller, Official Pot Stirrer, Info Guru(sdtripper), Auntie M, etc.
I think though we could change the site admin title to Sheriff/Judge/Jury/Executioner 8)

Gage, Ira and Steve you guys should pick someone to be your apprentice then you could give them the title beginning with apprentice and your could start with Master

Not crazy about the gold numbers either, but do like the neat titles. 8)

Gee what are the Golden Numbers...I tend to agree.. they are distracting.. as good of an idea as it may seem..

Could they be smaller? Leave the small wording and numbers and take off the golden ones all together..

Not too impressed with the big numbers either.

Another nay to the big numbers.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Okay, I hear the majority... the big gold numbers are gone.

Heck, we're not on a gold standard anyways...

I missed all that.. but see one avatar with a set of big numbers...

What were the numbers for?

Are we numbering ...our trailers, number of posts, age, waste size (LOL) or hours polishing?

I like the way the Airstream forum does it. They use little rivets right above your avatar. It's basically the same way we keep track of how many posts you make here but with the extra little rivets.
