Hello ladies and gentlemen. I've been interested in a teardrop for a while.
My wife said I should try to build one, so I'm going to give it a wirl with some help cause I'm legally blind. But I do have a few questions later.
I do enjoy this site, lots of useful imformation.

I guess I am a little confused. If you are legally blind, but obviously not totally blind, at the risk of sounding pretty dumb over here, how much can you see?

It sounds like you have some help lined up. Will they be doing the cutting and all that dangerous stuff? Just wondered.

I can see the stars , moon andthe sun. I can't well see well enough to drive , I sit about 4 feet from a 32 inch tv and about 15 inches from the moniter. I also use magnifiers. But I do still use power tools. I completly rebuilt 917H allis chalmers garden tractor last winter. I will have help with this project though. I have had a few accidents, broke foot, skinned shins , fingers, smashed toes etc. but nothing major. I'm also diabetic.

Ah, I have a much better understanding now.

So what are you going to build? A Generic Benroy? A Kit? A Cub? A Kenskill? Oh I know.... A winter warrior!

I'm thinking of a benroy or weekender. problem for me is the 10' plywood. As you say the kiss resolution.

Welcome aboard!!!!! Don't listen to Mike, he thinks everybody should build a weekend warrior
Now I am in trouble...Anyways you will spend more time planning than building and if right you do not have to use 10' pieces of plywood.

I suggest spending time in the Hall of Fame and if you can see one in person

Before you stress out about what supplies you can and can't get, go spend some time down at your local lumber yard, not the big box stores, but the local guys, Ask them for what you need and I think you will find them very responsive to your needs. They will usually be very helpful, much more than the box stores.

I'm speaking of the 10 foot plywood.

Thanks guys, I have decided on an 8' version of tthe weekender. I believe might be simplest for me. I bought a few supplies this weekend. I have my uncles funeral to attend tomorrow, so maybe I get more materials Tuesday if my signifigant other will loosen the purse strings.
