I live in a state that actually has an election this year. Usually we just appoint our pols.

But, it is nasty. There is so much mud being slung that we are going to run out of dirt.

Right now I am visiting family in Washington state, I voted Friday, then got the heck out of town.

I am so looking forward to this election being OVER!!!!

Actually, Dean, the Do-Not-Call list has LOOPHOLES!!!! (ever hear of a law that didn't?)

Seems our great and glorius leadership made provision that non-profits, religions AND political calls were exempt from the list service...

Same goes for stuff sent in the mail too... AND they get discounted postage on that one!

I voted early this morning, and I did what I always do.

I threw out all of the judges.

You know those ballots, right?

"Should Howard Kirschenbaum be retained as Circuit Judge in District 76?"

NO!!!

Like how the hell do I know what this guy has been doing? I say better safe than sorry.
Here we go again!

I voted against all incumbents. I think that if every person who voted did that, it would be better than what we've got. Politicians actually disgust me. All they do in October is lie about the the other guy, lie about what they are going to do, and hope for the best. When you think about how long the Senate is in each year, and how many votes a Senator misses because he is out on a Class A junket being paid for by us taxpayers....
Its enough to make me want to become a Mexican!!!!

I thought I'd keep a list of all of those obnoxious "my opponent ran over his mother and had sex with fuzzy little animals" TV commercials and then vote for the OTHER guy (the mother-running-over, sexually-excited-over-fuzzy-animals candidate).

My favorites are the ones "MY OPPONENT IS A LIBERAL" (which is why I was planning for the guy) until HE came on board and proclaimed "I'M A CONSERVATIVE; I VOTED WITH BUSH ON EVERYTHING" (which knocked HIM off my list).

Sigh....

DO NOT CALL exceptions:
Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/ale ... Exceptions
In addition to letting Arnold and Rudy Guilianni call me, this allows the radio stations to call and me questions about the music I listen to and others to call and ask which toilet paper I buy and it even allows my mortgage company to call me when they want to give me a new credit card, financial planning services or sell me life insurance.

I guess you mus not have voted fore anyone this year. There was mud slinging on both sides.

Dean, I may be wrong, but I think Political call a exempt from the "Do Not Call" list. I think I remember reading that when I put my number on the list.

Over? They're still counting and re-counting here!

Plus, since today is the o-fish-ul start of the 2008 Presidential campaign, I suspect the lull will be short.
