Crank out windows

Postby Steve Frederick » Fri Nov 10, 2006 7:43 pm

Anyone got a "reasonable" source for radius corner crankers?
I just got a quote from All-Rite..$2800 for four windows!
Phyll wanted crank outs, but, when I show her the qoute, she'll go for sliders..Same sizes $250 for sliders!

Crankers... I'm not sure... I got my sliders from TJ trailers... price was decent... varies based on size...

Just about the bottom of this page...

So they want $700 per window!?

Maybe if we go in together we can get a group discount. They might knock them down to about $650 per window!

Oh wait a minute.

Nevermind.

It amazes me that All-Rite can stay in business with the prices they charge. :x
I got my sliders from TJ trailers too.

Rocky....I was up at Grants a couple of months ago...his radius windows, while really nice, are sliders...I wanted radius crank outs also...I'm going to doctor up the frame for the look I want...kind of like putting a square peg in a radiused hole...we'll see how it goes...Doug

For sliders I've had real good luck with these guys
http://store.buckeyetrailers.com/viewProduct.aspx?CategoryID=52&ProductId=144
and their prices beat TJs by a good margin.

Steve!

What size windows are you looking for! Nobody in the states makes a true radius-corner crank-out that will fit our needs, but a few companies make windows that have radius corners with fixed panes on either side of a typical mitered crankout or jalouse-type center section. They're not particularly "cheap", but way better than $2800!

Drop me a note at my Li'l Bear address ...

Rocky...something like that, I've got to get them the same thickness as the rest of the trim, just haven't worked out the details on that yet, but I know what I want it to look like...Doug

I have a window question - how you guys mounting them? I've heard most use screws, but some people use rivets?

Thanks.
