The Tin Roof Woody is DONE!!

Finally got it finished! I do wish I’d done like Mike and kept better track of the actual time spent in construction, but I may be able to go back & figure it out. Anyway, a little under a year in the making – started last July. Here’s a photo of the curb side rear and another of the street side rear.

Next weekend – trial run.

Thanks Bev! I've only "seen" it done on one other teardrop - a photo of one that I found somewhere on the Internet. I don't think it was at a gathering - IIRC it was inside some kind of warehouse.

I'm thinking of a bug screen that attaches via velcro. And I always make my bed - years of Navy training, I guess...

Thanks for all the good words, Steve, but I'm afraid not. I had hoped to go and even made reservatoions but as it turns out, I have business trips on either side of that weekend that make it impossible for me to make the run up north.

Next year for sure!

Any idea about the total dry weight? As I recall, you used 1/8" plywood sandwiching foam and minimal framing for the sides.

Thanks Rik! Actually I used 3mm plywood, slightly less than 1/8" - I weighed nearly everything before it was installed including the pieces of the frame before assemly, so it's about 700 lbs. I'll try to run it by a truck scale this weekend anyway, just to be certain.

No, but I added a "fudge factor" of five pounds. Given that I went though at least two boxes of screws and about six large tubes of construction adhesive, that might not be quite enough, but it should be pretty darn close.
