Sandwich construction

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

I would normally never disagree with as senior a member as Doug ..... but I feel in this case he is just plain WRONG. I have done extensive fiberglass work and can tell you from experience Miracle whip makes a lousy release agent BUT........ It is absolutely necessary if you plan to make a good turkey sandwich!! Mayo is ok for cooking and other day to day lunch meat sandwiches, but don't ruin a good turkey sandwich with it. For turkey MIRACLE WHIP RULES :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

John....so what you are saying is that you indeed did question the use of Miracle Whip and actually did use it as a release agent? Your experience speaks for itself as you certainly have a fantastic tear and I wouldn't 2nd guess it based on your results....I stand corrected...Miracle Whip doesn't make a good release agent...or a sandwich for that matter...  8) anyone use it instead of white lithium grease when assembling an engine? I may have been sarcastic, but I didn't change the topic of the thread. And by the way, Paul, we drive on the Right side of the road, and yes, you drive on the wrong side of the road!

Let the thread hijack continue! But then, Mk's right - this IS about sandwich construction...
doug hodder wrote:....Miracle whip???? Excuse me!!!! Well I guess it does make a for a good fiberglass release agent in a mold....and what a way to ruin a perfectly good sandwich that some poor creature gave it's life up for....Shame on you....

I'm with you, Doug. Miracle Whip = water, soybean oil, vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, modified food starch, egg yolks, salt, mustard flour, artificial color, potassium sorbate as a preservative, spice, paprika, natural flavor, dried garlic. Excuse me?! High fructose corn syrup AND sugar? Modified corn starch? Artificial color? More preservatives than spices? I don't THINK so!
Mayo forever....Hellmans, better known as Best Foods east of the Rockies....

Unfortunately, Hellman's recently changed their recipe, though it still reads a lot better than Miracle Whip - soybean oil, water, whole eggs and egg yolks, vinegar, salt, sugar, lemon juice, natural flavors, calcium disodium edta (used to protect quality). I haven't really noticed the difference, but if I do I'll switch to Duke's, at least as long as I'm in Virginia and can get it. I may switch anyway - it's the only commercial brand of mayo that doesn't contain sugar or preservatives - soybean oil, eggs, water, vinegar, salt, paprika and natural flavors.

When I move to Missouri I guess I'll start making my own.

Do ya suppose Dean would ever do Miracle Whip on one of his Pizzas? I went to the site that Joseph posted in his response...they had the same discussion over there, but I doubt that it morphed into tear drop construction technique...Doug

That leads to today's stupid question.

In Britain a galloper (carousel, merry-go-round) spins clockwise. It is said this is so that a lady sitting side-saddle (a lady doesn't sit astride a horse, that's only done by women....) faces the outside of the ride. Or that the horses are mounted from the left just as you would on the road.

In the US and the rest of Europe, they spin the other way. Coincidentally, those countries also drive on the other side of the road from Britain.

So now, in Oz you drive on the left, but which way do your gallopers spin?

Every time I see the title of this thread I think of this guy. He's into serious sandwich construction.
