Hi everyone. I'd like to build my own camper eventually, but till then, i'm gaining knowledge Building runs in the family, i'm a welder/fabricator by trade, and this stuff is "the bomb" we have a 27ft travel trailer and camp a lot, but...i'd like to build something eventually. Hi there. I am a welder at oshkosh truck corporation. We make the world's toughest trucks. (I know because I help build them) These are some of the trucks you see in national guard convoy's , military trucks, cement trucks, severe duty vehicles that are all over the world! (Sorry, kinda proud of this) So, that's what i do, Being a welder, i get bits, and pieces, but, anyways, that's what I do. I've got a 18 year history in metal fabrication, and welding in many different industries. I guess it's in the blood! thanks for asking!

Tom from Kenosha just started posting too. I live just south of the WI border and often think of WI as more my state than IL. There is a pretty good Tear Drop community building here in the Midwest!

As a welder you can help a lot of us welding challenged!

My bet is you could build a tank of a Tear Drop

I know Oshkosh, they make the HEMTT. I've always called those "The Ultimate Offroad Vehicle."

I guess the same chassis is used for airport fire trucks cause they kinda have the same cab.

Yes we are all off bubble a bit. We just don't get enough pictures. Soooooo just dig out the camera and post post post. We also have a Madjack and a Mad Aussi and Well me so----a personal picture will make a good start.

We were thinking of putting all new pictures in our avatars with Santa Hats or other holliday junk on.

Nice to have another welder on board. I know what they are but am veryyyyyyyyy unlikely to use one.

The is a place here in the Green Bay area that has 5'x10'x3/4" plywood if you are needing it. I think I paid $55 dollars a sheet. Let me know!

Elmo........don't need the 5 x 10 stuff, but can't find a source for 1/8th thick ply........any ideas in the GB area ??

billydj ........big into detecting.....founder and currently VP of Green Bay club and member of WI Rapids and Madison clubs.......what chapter of GPAA do you attend Tomah or Greenbush? gave a talk about detecting at Greenbush last year.....I'm into water hunting for jewelry in the summer, I like to find my gold that way, fur trade and early settlement relics in the spring and fall.........building my little tear as a single sleeper / cargo hauler for detecting trips.....
