My final design...already in construction mode...comments?

Ok..I finally ironed out my design.

I am using the Kuffel Creek Comet desing on a 8' X 4' 1800# HF trailer. Only difference is that the front is going to be straighter (like a Benroy?) and the floor is 3/4" Advantech. I am making the length 4' wide X 9'6". I will have my 5500btu 110V window AC unit mounted 6" above the floor level (to clear the mattress) and it is mounted on the tongue. I'll build a well-ventilated box around it which will be hinged on the top. I am currently building a 10" deep storage area that will hang between the frame members under a door in the floor.

Galley will have a real homeade Ice-box, a Flamineta (when I get the cash up ) and a tile countertop. I plan on having 110v AC and 12v DC both. Might even put a could of neon tubes I have underneath it...ala' those cars that are tricked out.

Although I never liked them on cars, I want to do it to my trailer too. They are relatively cheap and easily available. It will be like "Pimp My Trailer".

Not sure on plans yet. Just now got 1/2 of my floor bolted in.

Making a storage area under the floor also. It'll be between the middle front frame members and is 10" deep, 14" wide and 45" long. Making the box out of advantech and stapling and Liquid Nailing it together.
To frame iin the area arount the inner frame where it is going I cut 2X4s to fit, knocked them into the ope frame members and ran self tapping bolts into the ends. Pretty secure. I'll glue and staple the box into the 2X4s.

Notes: Flooring is 3/4" advantech 4X8 sheet @ $21.50 a sheet and will be covered later. This stuff is impervious to water.

Box will be spar-varnished underneath. Box was joined with liquid nails and brad staples.

Opening for box was framed-in with cut 2X4 boards.

That thing looks deep. Will it give you enoguh ground clearance when its in place? ':

Yep...if you look at the box alone it looks deep. Don't forget to subtract the width of the frame itself. The top of the box is/will be level with the top of the inside frame. Total depth is 10". I checked and it is well above the axle.

Lil more info. Flooring is bolted straitght to the frame with Liquid Nails and self-tapping screws. Flooring extends over the back end of the trailer 1ft. Making the trailer 4' X 9' . I'll go over this monday and we will mount the box and then run "ratrails" to attach the wall to. We'll work on the walls week after next. Now that will be fun...
