Number 5, Rondack Lodge, Complete!!

The frame took a bit longer than I had figured! It's a big-un! 16-feet long, tongue to tail, and 78-inches wide.

The project will be called Rondack Lodge.
It's a blending of the '60 Metzendorf, and a traditional t/d. It's 80-inches wide, by 13-feet long. Phyll, at 5'6" will be able to stand in it.
We'll have a permanently set-up bed, a dinette/bed, a cassette potty, and a huge galley! If all goes well, I'll be offering plans.

Way to go Steve! I'll be watching this project closely as I've been wondering what a cross between a tear and TTT would be like.

Steve, I noticed you only painted the outside of your dropped floor. It wouldn't hurt to paint the inside even tho you are going to cover it. Steel has a way of rusting when exposed to moisture,and being covered, you wouldn't see it happening until it was too late. Painting it will give you a little more protection..... Paint's not that expensive is it??

I like that design. I've been dream in the back of my mind of a TTT that you don't have to take the table down to go to bed. That's the next build but now Mike and I are trying to build the Warrior/Hatch lighter and more streamlined. What is your estimated finish weight?

Ran the plan through Andrew's spread sheets to figure out the axle placement, I figure +/_ #2000. Axle is rated at #3500, has brakes.

I was thinking that you'd need the 3500 axle. Your 3 ft longer and 2 ft wider than the Warrior and he came in at 1600 lbs, of course most of that is air. Looking at the plans and frame thought it looked like somewhere between 2000 and 2500 lbs. Can't wait to see how it comes togeather. I wish that my work looked half as good as yours.
