Jim please take note...the Rocketear didn't come to being until after one of your vintage CC beverages....now I know who to blame....  however, upon completion, it will be American made...and to top it off, California built, by an Alaskan that lived in Colorado for 28 years.... doug

IMHO old (used) stuff doesn't count. The reason for "buy American" is to encourage & benefit American manufacturers. I bought (on eBay) a fan made by Robbins & Meyers of Dayton, Ohio. Buying it didn't help Robbins-Meyers a bit. (They're not making fans anymore anyway.) I bought it because it was made about the time my grandfather, father and mother were all working there.

Steve, thanks for the tool link. I buy Craftsmen hand tools, but now I know where else to look. :applause: :applause:

Joseph, I say American antiques and collectibles count because they are being shipped out of our country at an alarming rate and it's getting hard to find good Americana. I and many other 'tiquers prefer good ole American antiques, and I pay the price to keep that heritage floating around the USA. :fan: Congrats on your fan, I've got a turquoise one.

I agree, but that's a whole 'nother problem. And as I said, buying old stuff does nothing to promote American manufacturing.
Congrats on your fan, I've got a turquoise one.

Ooooooooooooh... I bet it'd go great with my Scotty!

Mine, MINE! How well would it go with your Scotty? 8)

Next, I thought the thread was just what you bought that was 100% American, not that it had to be new manufacture. And antiques is certainly big business and contributes to the economy, just ask eBay. Plus, (off topic) it conserves resources - Use it up, wear it out, make do, do without. Okay, okay, maybe we need another thread at that! :MLAS

Was just in my toolbox this morning (was a tight squeeze but I made it out ok). 8)

Anyways, my Craftsman wrenches, bought in the early to mid 1990's are stamped "Forged in the USA." My MAC wrenches, bought at approximately the same time simply say "USA." I always thought Craftsman were labeled "Made in the USA." Goes to show what suggestive marketing can do.
