What to get the Wife for Christmas?

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Steve_Cox » Fri Dec 15, 2006 6:08 pm

John,

I bought my wife a portable massage table, some scented oils and candles for some of her Christmas gifts. She too is over stressed and over worked. Massage is something I can give her whenever we want and there is nothing like having a table to do the job right. :D

Well following all the posts here Ive also been racking my ol brains as what to get the wife for Christmas

I dont want to buy her any gold or silver jewelry because she herself works with it day in and day out... year to year...

I cant have nothing that has to do with teardrops because she sees and hears about that everyday..

As far as Perfumes.... well being that I spend a lot of time on ships... She has a great collection of the newest fragrances that Ive brought to her...

Lingerie... hmmm well... naaaaaaa she has a collection of that too...

She would need some work tools that I know she has been looking at from the USA... but it wouldnt get here in time so we,ll wait...

However as many have stated.... She does work long hours and she is overworked... so a weekend of rest for her with my cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids would be a treat....

She is taking a Cruise over to Stockholm however after the Holidays and I,ll have the lil one here with me so that will help but its still not a Christmas Present....

So Im still stuck on the topic as I dont have a clue.... yet...

Ive thought about installing a nice Hottub that is enclosed in the yard but
then the neighbors would really think Ive gone loonier that what I already
am ....   And that reminds me too much of our Sauna culture anyhow...

I vote for the spa day as well. If the cost of a full day is too high, you can get her a massage, a half day at the spa or one of the treatments.

A couple other options that she might like are:
- if she does most of the cleaning, bring someone in to really scrub the house top to bottom. Be careful though, some women love this, some are insulted by it as they see it as an insult to their cleaning skills.
- a good detail and wax on her car
- a 'shopping spree' at a store she likes for clothes, hobby, whatever
- bring in a professional organizer for her. Again, tread with caution on this one.
- a yard/flowerbed makeover.
- a nice dinner out with flowers and the works.
- a full day of activities with her in mind - or even just an evening. my partners mom loves it when we simply go spend a day with her going to the movies, having lunch etc.
- maybe even combine a couple of the above - take her out for a day of shopping or antiquing or museuming and have someone come and scrub the house while you're gone.

I think everyone in this thread is hitting on the important stuff in all these posts. While some women LOVE jewelry and gifts, i think most of them just want the gift of your time and thoughtfulness.

I'm sure whatever you do or get her she'll love!

I was going to get my wife gift certs to Discovery Cove so we can swim with the dolphins. She has wanted to go for a while now.

Today she sent me an e-mail from work saying that she made reservations to go while we are in FL for Christmas. Oh well, back to square one.

We did that in Mexico... I think it was on the Cancun trip. We took a boat over to an island that had dolphins.

No we didn't take the boat over to the nudist island. :o

Now I'm confused... maybe I'm thinking about the Acapulco trip... yea, that's it. Cause we went deep sea diving and snorkling too.

Mike...

I have just heard that they are very friendly and gentle... but no experience with them whatsoever...Not even while sailing out from Miami.

We have 5 of them here in a Delfinarium... but cant get close to pet them.. Just the trainers have that contact..

This is CLASSICAL music we're talkng about here. I just can't STAND it.

And the guy is DUTCH to boot! I refuse to be entertained by a Dutchman!
I have no problem with Bocelli, because just staring at those eyeballs can entertain me for hours.

So....... You don't find me entertaining???????????? :x   ;)
