I was wondering as to how to go about doing a "cedar strip type" roof.

Can you tell me how this may be started or how its supposed to be done?

Running some ideas through my head once more... :thinking:

You mean, like Steve F's stripper? That was strips glued onto a plywood roof. I'll bet Steve has some progress photos.

I did my own cedar strip canoe. How cool would that be to have it mounted on a strip TD?

I think it's done very slowly.

I think the actual stripping goes pretty quick. It's the prep work that takes time (milling the strips, making accent stripes if you want them, filling and sanding). Lot's of room for creativity if your in no rush!!!

I think I read on Steve Fredricks site that 6 inches in 1 hour???? but dont quote me on it.. Maybe he meant somthing else..

Id have the strips milled at our friendly woodmilling shop and Id just do the rest... :lol:

I really would like to see a stripper that was small, but with some round corners like an airstream. Stripping fairly flat is beautiful, but canoes and kayaks have some pretty decent curves.

Heikki... I would think you could build a very nice compound curved tear with the same methods they use for strip kayaks. I've been thinking along those lines too. Sure would make a beautiful teardrop. :thumbsup:
