I haven't built mine yet, but when I do it will be a welded home built. Being in the trailer industry for awhile, we always considered the bolt together trailers as being light weight disposalbe types. Most of the people that buy them usually seriously over load them. I saw one guy the other day had a little red 4 x 8 that he had put 4' plywood sides on and had it filled to the top with dirt or compost of some sort. He had a ratchet strap going horizontal around the trailer trying to hold the sides together which by now were almost completly round! Way over loaded. Very dangerous. Some people just don't think.

However, most tear drops will never get that heavy. So I could see that they would work fine is some applications.
Enjoy.
