Georgia folks--NuWay hot dogs?

A coworker just came back from NC, and he raved about these hot dogs he had near/in Macon. To hear him tell it, it was like the best he ever had.

Is this a chain operation or something? He said the dogs were like red.

If he had stopped in Brunswick Ga. and went to Willy's Wienee wagon, he'd would have had the best hot dog he ever ate and just for poops and giggles, if he had tried the pork chop sammich, his tongue would have slapped his brains out.
and the sweet tea is what I want when the warden asks what I want for my last meal..ummm ummm good.

I have to warn you that hot dogs are NOT the same in other parts of the country. When I was in NC I ordered one "all the way" I naively thought Ketchup, Mustard, Onions, & Relish. WRONG! in NC, all the way means Chili, Onions, Mustard, and COLESLAW! Their hotdogs are also dyed red "Get your Red Hots"! I think they put coleslaw on everything there. Wendy's sold a "Carolina Classic" burger that had chili, mustard, olions, and slaw.

I prefer Vienna Beef dogs over Nathan's, but as far as store bought dogs go, Hebrew National makes a good dog. One of my Jewish buddys told me that HN dogs are the cleanest (as far as hot dogs go) because they are inspected and blessed by a Rabbi. I usually go for a Kraut dog or a chili dog. Occasionally I'll get a Chicago dog.

I'll have to try that place in GA.

BTW: Sam's Club has really good dogs on the cheap. Under $2 for a big dog and a drink. Some stores have Kraut available too.

If anyone wants a red dog..Roger Woods here in Savannah makes um for that guy in Macon..some folks don't like them because of the red dye scare a few years ago.

Interesting. The History Channel did a show on "America Eats" that featured both Nathan's and Hebrew National in the history of the hot dog, but completely ignored the southern brands even though they were being developed about the same time. I wonder why...
