Discontinued panelling

I found a deal on discontinued interior panelling.

Question is, could I use this as interior and exterior wall panels, with the ugly side to the insulation side of the wall? Could I also use it for the roof?

It is such a deal. $5 for a 4 x 8 panel.

What does everyone think?

If it's your standard room paneling, it may actually be cardboard and not wood at all. Better check it out first. You don't want something that would fall apart on you if it gets damp.

no it's wood. It looks to be luan on the backside, but the front is butt ugly. Some sort of pastel green.

Its at a salvage lumber place. I am going back to look for possible window candidates and even some hardware and lights.

If its luan paneling its not water proof! I work in a body shop and repair motorhomes and that's that there made of. If it gets wet it will delamate. Spend a little extra and extior grade ply. I would hate to see you have to redo everything because the plywood came a part.

Do they have any plywood that is damaged on the corners? While browsing the bargin bin of my local lumber yard, I found some great deals on sheets that were damaged in areas that I am going to cut off anyways. They were marked less than 1/2 of the original price!

Brilliant!!

This is how my dad redid the kitchen in their home. Almost all of the stuff was "scratch and dent".

I can always shop around and buy it from different sources. "A penny saved is a penny"... more towards building our "Bunny Hutch"!

Another good moneysaver is to rip your own framing from larger stock rather than buying the precut. Check out local auto wrecker for custom vans for windows, interior lights and such. Do you have any friends or family that do flooring work (scrap carpet and linoleum).
