additional vintage trailer plans...

The other thread was gettin' long so I decided to start a fresh one here. I acquired a variety of vintage trailer plans printed from older magazines. I believe these to be public domain, but if there are any issues, please let me know about it.

My wish is for Mike to add it to his collection "Vintage Plans" on the top of this forum. It is sort my contribution to the forum, and because I enjoy the people and info here. I hope to build a TD some day, but while I was making my plans, I stumbled across a vintage trailer to work on. So my plans for a TD will be after I finish the current project.

I was going to make a nice little web page to outline everything, but it started to feel like work. I tried to upload the plans that Mike didn't have listed above. You will need a .pdf viewer, ie. Adobe Acrobat, and can be downloaded for free.

Really, which ones, I have so many plans that I may have gotten confused. Like my first post says, "it started to feel like work". So if there are duplicates with different names just disregard it, and get the ones you don't have.

Looks to be a 40's Airstream there Cliff. Nice find and I would say your priorities are about right. But then again your picture says it's a CurtisWright. I don't believe I've seen one. What year is it?

P.S. By the way, what happened to the Aljoa or are you collecting vintage trailers now?

I really got a chuckle out of the Dec 1936 plan. I read with interest the price list for the materials. As much as I'd like to see those prices come back, I don't want to be earning the same wage they were earning back then.

Hi Cliff.

First, I need to aplogize for my snotty tone in the previous post.

It appears that "September 36", "Lightweight" and "Weekender" are already in the link on this forum. As far as the other plans in your website go, I must have seen them elsewhere on the web. TDs are extremely addictive for me and sometimes things just turn into a blur.

And my offer to go sailing still stands, I'll provide the beverages of your choice, e-mail me if interested.

Ilya, don't worry about it. There were a couple of plans that took on a different filename, and were actually duplicates that Mike had posted. I quickly deleted those after going through my list again. There are some that were not posted. A couple may not fit the theme of these forums here, being actual trailers, and not teardrops. I just thought it would make good reading materials.

If a TD builder can learn one good technique, and or get inspired that would be great. Thanks for the invite, never been on a sailboat. I hope to build a TD someday.

P.S. re-edit. I just looked at the Dec36 file, and is a duplicate. Oh well I try.

A bit late for me, now the Crocodile Tear is built... but some good ideas there.

The biggest room in my trailer, anyway, is the Room for Improvement!
