A trend toward bigger trailers may be a comfort issue. People are taller and heavier from the "baby boomer" generation toward today than they were prior to WW2.

The "gaucho" in most Scottys would be uncomfortable for most post 10-year-old kids today. It used to be an adequate bed for an average adult!

But if you're building your own, it only makes sense to incorporate what you need for your camping style.

Agreed. It does seem that the tiny tear market is moving to larger campers. I think it was only a matter of time. Most of the campers seem to be 13' and less. I think it will be awhile before most tear & TTT folk move up to the 35' 5th wheel with triple slides. :)

Oh come on Len! You don't want to drive around in a one ton dually quad cab diesel yanking a a 20,000 pound +/- 50 amp camper/trailer/home around? ;) You know the type with the washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, king bed, triple A/C, breakfast nook, bathtub + shower, big screen TV, stereo, oven, stove, microwave, etc. You won't even have to go outside. You can just hang around the indoor fireplace!

Sorry to mess up your thread Steve. BTW, any guesses on the weight of the new build? Gonna need a diesel p/u?

That 'swoosh' design is one of the prettiest things I've ever seen.

A one ton dually? I'm working on it, I want one. Especially since I've found out that the 3/4 and 1 ton diesels get close to the same gas mileage as my 4-cyl truck and better mileage than 1/2ton gas trucks.

I'll use it to haul the teardrop (like Bruce). If I need to haul a 5th wheel trailer, I can.
