Beaver's Bend pictures

Postby Sodapop Teardrop » Wed Jan 10, 2007 9:36 pm

Rick & Linda, thanks for the pictures! Beaver's Bend is a beautiful park not too far from us. I'm looking forward to our first outing in the Coca-cola Teardrop. Our 14 year old is already bidding to sleep in the tear and have us in a tent! From the pix, it looked like there were some kiddo's there. I'm hoping there will be some teens there this year as well.

Our 14 year old, Tyler will be there. He is the most typical teenager I have ever known.

I'll speak for Karol.... Lucas is her 14/15 year old... last year her friend and her teen sons came too and did some fishing and bicycling..... Karol and Lucas have done some geocaching too.

I have two teenagers but they haven't wanted to go camping with thier mom.... the 17 yr old and a couple of friends might but ... I kinda doubt it.
That would be cool though.

That park has a walking trail nearby and a pier out by the Kaw River and then a nice little walk over a bridge and to the back of the Nature Center.. Nice camping place !!! Little too much floodlights though.

I'm emailing my big brother right now , but not sure if he will seriously come. If he does , he would be tent camping or with me.

Ok, I've learned my lesson. I won't make any promises, but I will do my best to attend this year. With or without a TD.

I wish reality was as predictable as reality t.v. shows.

Come on guys....... let's get the last 7 sites filled. Or as least 5 and I'll pay for the other 2 and hold them for those that need to wait till the last minute to decide.

Well I'll pay for reservations today. I hate to do it but I will tell them we don't need 4. Hopefully they will have more sites available as it gets closer to March 30th cause I know we will have more folks wanting to attend.
Hope everyone stays warm and dry........

I'm a noob here. Just got my teardrop. This trip sounds interesting -- are noobs welcome?

I used to tent camp a whole lot, but as I've aged, sleeping on the ground has lost it's allure. So, I'm not new to camping -- just this kind of camping.

What are these campouts like? I'm 45, divorced, no kids -- how does that fit into the "demographics" of this group?

Casey, I'm a newbie too. Back on the forum list is a "what happens at a gathering" section. It helped me! :)

Caseydog,

Noob huh, well we will have to ask the higher powers if you can go to gatherings.......hmmmmm

Are you crazy of course you can go to gatherings, that's what they are for, everybody was a noob at one time or another.

Here are the demographic questions that you need to answer

1. Do I have a TD,TT or Tent(interested in TD and/or TTT)?
2. Do I like to meet new and interesting people?
3. Do I like to eat?
4. Do I like to go to new and interesting places?
5. Do I have a sense of humor?
6. Do I like to have fun?

An answer of yes to any of the above questions and you will fit in fine with this group. If anybody says anything to the contrary, well that is their problem

Well what are you waiting for sign up for a gethering in your area   8)

Caseydog,
Everybody's welcome! I have been to three gatherings so far. I stayed in the hotel at ITG I, a borrowed TD at Clinton Lake and a tent last year at Beavers Bend. I am almost done with my trailer and hope to get in one weekend locally before Beavers Bend but, it may be the maiden voyage. It's a great way to meet people with similar interests and Teardropers are a very friendly group. Your profile doesn't say where you're located but if there is any chance at all you can make it you should come.

Scott F.

NO KIDDING! Camping next to Jeff at the LCG I learned all about his method of starting a fire, and Sat night, Kerry and I didn't need to light a fire after Jeff started his!

Hey, it's not a bonfire unless you can see it from space.
