Your gut can take it...go ahead and brew it up!!! As I recall, the Coopers kit has the hops in the malt, you just boil it, put it in a carboy, throw in some yeast and call it beer!!! If it don't taste right...give it a new name (something like "Bricks Outhouse Ale") and enter it into a local brew club contest.
Oh Yeah... I've sure done some of that. I'd brew up a batch... and if I didn't really like it, I'd bottle it and make up some wild labels (I was in the graphics & printing business) and just give it all away... Impressed the snot outa some of my customers! Of course... I drank the good stuff.

With a name like mine, I just had to make some "Bricks $hithouse Ale" labels.
