Eastern Wisconsin campout

Camping in the Midwest, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin & Kentucky. Also includes Buckeye, Hoosier and BlueGrass Tearjerker chapters

Postby Ptomaine » Sun Jan 14, 2007 5:12 pm

I've been in Michigan for training, so I haven't kept up on this get together. I am pretty sure I will be able to make it, but I have a few things I will have to check when I get back to Wisconsin next week before I set things in stone. I've never camped where there are electrical hook-ups before  This might be interesting.

I sent emails to some of our customers and Camp-Inn Camp-Outt attendees to see who can also make. I have one yes for sure. His name is Doug Hardekopf, aka Dutchy. He couldn't make the camp-outt because he was on a trip to Texas. He is a Dutch oven cooking expert (hence the nickname) and just plain cool guy.

The Libbertons (the couple that camped next to you at the Camp-Outt, Tom) said they are very interested and will let me know back.

Looking forward to meeting you Bruce. It will be good seeing the rest of you again!

Cary

It will be good to see you again Cary...at my current rate I may have to rent one of yours or tent it!

I got one more. Tom's friends and fellow Camp-Inn owners Parnell and Barb Nelson just let me know they reserved site 22 for the campout.

So, be ready for some INTERESTING stories at the campfire now.

Annnnd another one. Another customer just emailed and said they reserved a site. Brian and Julie Rach from Chilton WI. They have site 27.

Tom, you may remember them from two Camp Outts ago. They are the couple with the two young kids who tented it. They couldn't make this years Camp-Outt now that they had a teardrop because of a wedding. They aren't missing this though.

They just keep coming! I have another one again. I mentioned earlier about Dutchy. He just emailed to confirm that he reserved site 45. So, put down a Doug Hardekopf (Dutchy).

I emailed Cary about Dutchy's pick for his site. He is on site 45 all the way across the campground. I hope he can change it and get closer to the rest of us. Good job keeping records. I lost track a long time ago!

A couple of thoughts, first could this thread be changed to "Cooled near the lake, Eastern WI, April 27-29" and be made a sticky? Second, I guess Saturday night should be a pot luck, or is that just understood. Third, do we need some sort of cool logo? and is someone good at that. Forth, is anyone interested in seeing beer being brewed. (It's really easy, it's mostly boiling water) I will bring a sample along to taste.
This seems to have taken on a life of its own, organising this is really easy since I haven't done much at all. My first thoughts were maybe 4 or 5 tear drops, this is way better than I ever expected.

alan and i would like to join in on the fun. :D we are from central illinois and only are a couple of hours away. we actually have family in racine.
we haven't had enough teardropping fun this past year and would like to make up for it. i have been following the thread between bong and cliffside and i think either one would be nice. we wouldn't be able to come though may 19-20 because we will be at turkey run with the gathering of teardrops from the midwest.
