Bed liner coating

Postby S10CHEVY » Tue Jan 16, 2007 3:52 pm

Has anyone ever thought of using bed liner coating for a camper? I belong to crappie.com, and quite a few are getting rid of carpets in boat, and putting this on in replace of it. Then when done for the day, they can spray the boat out, and it is clean for the next time. Was thinking that it might work good for the roof, and possibly applied to the sides. It can be bought in colors, so a person could get it in the color of their tow vehickle even.

A picture of a tear completely covered in bed liner has been posted before, I think it was blue.

I'm sure someone will find it and post it again for you.

Thanks Brad for the link. It sure looks nice. That was done over either aluminum or sheet metal, it looks like. The bedliner stuff can be bought in auto parts stores. I know a guy that did it himself on a truck. Will be talking to him for more info. I like the texture to it, that you can see in the picture close up.

No, I talked to the guy who owned that tear. He had the Line-x sprayed right over the plywood, the way he talked he didn't put nothing else on top of the wood. He said the coating made it easy work it covered up everything. It did look good.

Here's another material that's a lot cheaper (I think) and comes in a lot of colors. It's called Durabak, and it's used for heavy industrial applications like warehouse floors and boat docks, so you know it can take a beating.

You can request their literature, and they'll also send you samples of the stuff. It also goes right on the ply with a roller.

It's a matter of taste whether you like the texture of it--it seems to go on heavier than the bedliner stuff. But the stuff will actually fill and seal your seams where your roof meets the sides.
Here we go again!
