Bye Bye Obama

Bye Bye Obama

The guy spent 4 years as a kid being educated in a Muslim Madras in Indonesia!

That's the kind of a background that even a liberal like ME can't rise above.

Man, say what you want about Hillary--but when she sets her dogs on you, you're done.

One of the guys who was involved with the swift baoters is already on it...

When Obama was six, his mother, an atheist, married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian Muslim and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro was born after the family moved to Indonesia.

Soetoro enrolled his stepson in one of Jakarta's Muslim Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the rest of the world. Obama later attended a Catholic school in Indonesia.

Yes, it's the same web site that Brick noted about Muslim pirates way back in the 1800's.

Obama is an egomanical nut if he thinks a Muslum could actually be elected president in America... Never happen. For that matter, I don't think Americans will elect a woman any time soon either. So... If the Dems are crazy enough to nominate either one, (surely not both) the Republicans would be right back in office. You know they are secretly hoping and praying the Dems will do this.

There's something in this Wikipedia bio that's scary????

His mother married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian foreign student, and they had one daughter. The family moved to Jakarta when Obama was six years old. Four years later, Obama returned to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents. He was enrolled in the fifth grade at Punahou School, a large, private college preparatory school in Honolulu, which he attended through 12th grade, graduating in 1979. His father died in a car accident in Kenya when Obama was 21 years old. Obama's mother died of cancer a few months after the publication of his 1995 memoir, Dreams from My Father.

In Dreams from My Father, Obama describes his experiences growing up in his mother's white American middle class family. His knowledge about his absent black Kenyan father came mainly through family stories and photographs. Of his early childhood, Obama wrote: "That my father looked nothing like the people around me—that he was black as pitch, my mother white as milk—barely registered in my mind." As a young adult, he struggled to reconcile social perceptions of his multiracial heritage. Obama writes about smoking marijuana and trying cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my mind."

After high school, Obama studied for two years at Occidental College in California and then transferred to Columbia College in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialization in international relations. After receiving his Bachelors of Arts degree in 1983, Obama worked for one year at Business International Corporation. In 1985, he moved to Chicago to direct a non-profit project assisting local churches to organize job training programs for residents of poor neighborhoods.

Obama entered Harvard Law School in 1988. In February 1990, he gained national recognition for becoming the first African American to be elected president of the Harvard Law Review. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991. On returning to Chicago, Obama directed a voter registration drive, then worked for the civil rights law firm Miner, Barnhill & Galland, and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1993 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004.

Brick, that's why I say Edwards is the only Dem with half a chance, especially being a southern Democrat. The names of the other Dems I'm hearing are totally ridiculous.

What world are they (not me) living in?

But I think we ARE ready for a woman--but that woman ain't Hillary.

Sigh...

I'll never forgive Gore for picking Lieberman, because I KNEW a Jew couldn't cut it yet--especially a devout, practicing one. Any other VP and Gore would have won it hands down.

And although I'm an athiest, I swear to God that on the day he picked Lieberman, I said, "Is Gore totally nuts? He blew it."

Why pick a Jew to win New York, a state you're gonna win ANYWAY but will go over like an atom bomb everywhere ELSE in the country?

And looking at Lieberman's politics since then, Gore not only wrongly chose a Jew--he chose a REPUBLICAN in Dems' clothing.

Last rant:

I've heard horrible things expressed against Jews about them dictating U.S. mideast policy because of Israel, and a lot of that is true. But people also have to remember that Israel is the longest-standing real ally in the region. (We give them enough, so they had BETTER be.)

But the reality is that 95% of Jews, practicing or not, are MANIACAL supporters of Israel. The holocaust ended just 60 years ago, and I myself grew up with kids whose parents had the number tattoos on their arms from the camps. It is drilled into every single Jew as a kid what happened there, and since it's even now only 60 years ago, we got the film footage, hard evidence, and still, there are SURVIVORS from the camps to tell the stories.

This history doesn't go away for a Jew, and regardless of what is ultimately best for U.S. policy in the Middle East, to us, Israel will ALWAYS come first.

However, that's just me and other Jews. But what's happening with Lieberman is that he's HIDING this motivation when expressing his support for the Iraq invasion and the war.

In other words, he can BS all he wants about defending America, WMDS, blah blah...blah blah...

But all he cares about is Israel, pure and simple.

And it's okay to feel that way--just don't bullshit us about it.

(It's official--a hijack has just occurred.)

The problem is he hid a lot of this stuff.

He's finished--but he shouldn't have started in the first place:

Two years in office and he's ready for the presidnecy? Who does he think he is?

KENNEDY?

Things I don't care about:
Don't care if Clinton inhaled or not.
Don't care if he screwed around on his wife.
Don't care if W did cocaine and drove drunk.
Don't care if Obama lived among assholes for a few years.

I just can't blame a guy for what sort of school his parents stuck him in as a kid. Not like he was given a choice in the matter.

Can't see giving a rip about people acting stupid in their private life either. ESPECIALLY when that stupidity occurs during their college years LONG ago.

I care VERY much about what they've done lately and if I think they're gonna do a good job or not.

Electing ANYBODY with only 2-4 years of experience in politics to the presidency would be downright foolish. Obama just plain isn't the guy - not now. 10-20 years down the line? Maybe... Personally I'm a little tired of people talking as if the sun shines out the guys  .

Hillary would be a poor choice too. I personally don't have any serious doubt she would do a decent enough job (thanks to W the bar has been set pretty low) - but she carries too much baggage. The extreme Clinton bashers would start frothing at the mouth just hearing her name.

Gotta agree with Ira, in so much that at the current time, Edwards seems to have the best bet. It's a long time till the primaries though... Nobody would have bet on Bill Clinton at this stage of the game either.

The ONE thing I wish would stop in American politics however is the damned 'team' mentality that both sides have. Not every idea that YOUR team comes up with is great and not every idea the OTHER team comes up with is terrible. Reasoned debate (and judicious compromise) has been replaced with just plain ARGUING, entrenchment and mindless name-calling. Most kindergarteners behave better than the bulk of politicians and pundits out there.

The problem is he hid a lot of this stuff.

This is from snopes.com:

In his 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope, Obama elaborated on his early schooling, explaining that he attended both Catholic and Muslim schools in Indonesia — not out of any particular religious affiliation, but because his mother wanted him to obtain the best education possible under the circumstances:

"During the five years that we would live with my stepfather in Indonesia, I was sent first to a neighborhood Catholic school and then to a predominantly Muslim school; in both cases, my mother was less concerned with me learning the catechism or puzzling out the meaning of the muezzin's call to evening prayer than she was with whether I was properly learning my multiplication tables."

He talked about the cocaine stuff in his first book.

If you think he's too green , that's fine, but a possible covert Muslim terrorist wannabe?

How about an extremely bright and accomplished person with a proven track record of dedication to the Constitution and to helping people. Oh yeah, he also has an unusual background which exposed him to a variety of cultures at an early age - a big plus in my book.

I'll fade out now.
