Lawryn...Best wishes...I'm sure glad you ain't checkin out the roots of the dandelions. In my own case, I went into a doctor for the first time in 30 years over Xmas because I started getting nosebleeds bending over working on the Tear. Found out my BP (the silent killer) was over 200 when they checked. I had no clue, it seems like a lot of guys don't regularly get checkups and simply don't know what's going on until something happens. MIght be the first documented time building a Tear saved a life!!!

Larwyn, glad to hear it was just a scare and sorry to hear about all the sensible things you need to do - I go with 'sensible', but 'didnt know better' was definitely more fun..... Keep your tackle swinging free.

War Eagle buddy (that's a good thing from an Auburn boy). Glad to hear your going to be OK. Now get up and start walking everyday. My dad just went to a similar situation. Went to the doc for a little shortness of breath and came home 6 days later with a heart valve from a cow in him (we cut the rest up into steaks but didn't let him have any). He's doing good but I have to call him several times a week and get on his ass about getting out of his recliner and go walking. Take care of your self. Go walking.

This is why they say to get a physical every year. 12 years ago I went in for my first physical in several years and the doctor said that he thought something was wrong and I needed to see a specialist. I felt fine though. When I went to the specialist he said that he thought I had a tumor and that I was coming in tomorrow morning for exploratory surgery. I spent the rest of the night and the next morning in a daze. It turned out that I did have cancer and it had begun to spread. It was in three lymph nodes. I went through chemo that year and I've no sign of the cancer since then. Since it's been more then 10 years I'm considered cured! 8)

Good to hear from you and your being back from the hospital in one piece!! Same with me and the doctor- went in for one problem, turns out minor and while there had EKG- Doc didn't like picture, got a monitor for 24 hrs. turned it into the hospital after test finished and went back to work. Dr. called and said to get to hospital right away!!they would send wagon if needed? Drove to hosp. wisked to room and settled in. Cardioligest came in later and asked how I felt--fine. Was getting 1,000 extra heart beats per hr. during monitor test-didn't feel --didn't know. Had surgery to control, out in a few days, good as old. Hate the stress tests for followup, but that will quit now got DVT in right leg. But we all keep trucking along. Like your workshop and going to try that myself this spring and get a build started.
Take care of yourself!! and keep building.
Good Luck, Les

Larwyn, glad you are back and safe. Yea it is a bummer we can't be on a "sea food diet" (see food and eat!) It is a wake up call and should change the way we eat. I know when my dad had a heart attack he was not to have salt, fatty foods, all the good stuff that we like to eat. It was hard to change.
