Has anyone ever used Rust-oleum professional high performance enamel? It comes in aluminum finish. It is oil based and about $25.00 a gallon. Just wondering if this was a good finish?

Are you thinking about painting the whole trailer with it?

I painted my entire trailer with Ace Hardware oil base high gloss enamel. It worked out fine for me. I used MDO for the sides & luan on the roof. The side turnded out pretty smooth, the roof could have been better. Some of the grain shows more than I hoped.

I used Rustoleum Glossy Black on my frame and steel fenders. It was sprayed on. It has worked ok for me.

Rustoleum is pretty good paint. I've even seen show cars painted with it! The only drawback I have found to it it is very slow drying so you have a tendancy for it to have a lot of problems with dust, bugs ets. settling into the finish before it drys. You can buy good automotive paints for about $35. a gallon that will be dry to the touch in 15 minutes... A better much choice in my view.

This car was painted with Rustoleum... with a roller!

Stranger things had happened... One of my friends back in NY brushed his Mercedez with flat white interior latex... 10 years ago... He still drives that thing...

I'm glad I was never in that car with him. There are some TDs painted with latex exterior grade paint and that's my plan too, and there are a bunch of web-sites touting the benefits thereof.

PS As much as everyone likes da pics here, I'm really proud of myself for not having any, even though it's all true.
