Bye Bye Obama

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Somebody sent me this the other day ("liberals" fighting back):

Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's
daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a
bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade
with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our
highest national priority is enforcing U.N. Resolutions against Iraq .

A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but
multi- national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind
without regulation.

The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in
speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies,
then demand their cooperation and money.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing
health care to all Americans is socialism.

HMO's and insurance companies have the best interests of the public
at heart.

Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but
creationism should be taught in schools.

A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable
offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which
thousands die is solid defense policy.

Government should limit itself to the powers named in the
Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but
George Bush's driving record is none of our business.

Bill Clinton spent 8 years trying to secretly kill Osama Bin Laden
without taking the lives of thousands of innocent people and American
soldiers. He is accused of doing nothing and being the bad guy.
Bush has spent 5 years trying to openly kill Osama Bin Laden while taking
the lives of thousands of innocent people and American Solders and
invading two separate countries to do it, but he is the good guy.

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a
conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our
prayers for your recovery.

What Bill Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest,
but what Bush did in the '80's is irrelevant.

Maybe I was a little harsh on Jimmy, he has tried for whatever reason to be remembered as a gentle and thoughtful man. Habitat is a great way to do this and perhaps that's what I should have said.

I just had the chance to quick-read former President Jimmy Carter's book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid. I've also read Kenneth W. Stein's negative review of it... and a few others. It seems to me the only people critical of it are Jews. That doesn't surprise me either; a lot of them do support Israel’s oppression of the Palestinians that is still on going.

After reading it, I think he is 99.9% correct. Any flaws in the book are minor and inconsequential to the overall thrust of his criticism of the Israelis policy of permanent Israeli domination in disguise. Carter has been widely criticized for comparing the Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to Apartheid. But he isn't the only one with that view.

The respected Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem concluded: "Israel has created in the Occupied Territories a regime of separation based on discrimination, applying two separate systems of law in the same area and basing the rights of individuals on their nationality. This regime is the only one of its kind in the world, and is reminiscent of distasteful regimes from the past, such as the apartheid regime in South Africa." A more recent B'Tselem publication on the road system Israel has established in the West Bank again concluded that it "bears striking similarities to the racist Apartheid regime," and even "entails a greater degree of arbitrariness than was the case with the regime that existed in South Africa."

I think Jimmy Carter may be the only President, past or present, with the balls to tell it like it is. :applause:

The topic has drifted somewhat - but it's still probably worth pointing out that the story which started this thread has been debunked. It's a crap story that came out of the Insight www site. The "News" organization that doesn't even publish the names of their 'reporters'. It's a rumor mill.

Obama Story full of Bull

Obama Story full of Bull

The start of this thread seems premature in its decision to write off Obama
@ the drop of a hat as someone would have many do.

I guess in retrospect and after further journalistic reporting the idea that he
went to a militant madrases school is bull. Seems CNN proved the lie and
has had a fight with Fox news about it as Fox got it from some operative
and didn't follow uP before splashing it out on the news with
embellishments. Scarring most people into a snap decision.

My tendency leans more to finding out who it benefits to trash Obama. This
snap judgement type news that seems to grab people out of the gate and
twist their decisions on false miss-representation will continue and we
should all be on the look out for the speed of lies across the Internet and
television of the main corporate owned media.

We are two years out and already all this stuff is going down.
The Republicans and the Dem's will sure shove mud up our @$$es to the
tune of a billion dollar$ in this coming two years.
Too bad it has to start now and catch so many off guard.

Obama Debunk

Fox corrects claim about Obama

Maybe Hillary's group put out Obama story?
maybe not? Who would benefit in the primaries?

When I read that about him being attached to a school like that I was curious as to why it has not came up before......
With the experience he has, I still think he not electable....And I think no one should never underestimate Hilary......

There is the issue of gender and race when talking of Hilary and Obama. Is America ready for either? The funny thing about the gender issue is that Hilary has been around in the national news so long politically I am not sure the gender issue is a problem with her. We are used to her.

Here in Iowa she is on the news every 5 minutes. I heard a comment from someone the other day....... they said" She looks so small in real life." So I watched the TV and thought of that when she was on.......... Most of the time when she was speaking pre-campaign she was at a podium......So she didn't really seem small. But here in Iowa , she was giving speeches away from the podium....... she didn't seem very Presidential. But she sure did cover every base on issues that she will be confronted with. She even saw some humour in Bill's wandering ways......

People keep saying the Obama is too green. I haven't decided who I'll support, but I am attracted to the notion that someone who is not one of the "same old, same old" gang is running.

Haven't had enough of the experienced, polished liers? It's time for some new non-traditional players.

I need to know what he has done so I can tell what he might do. Voting records indicate that he has very liberal tendencies.

Don't forget to look at the supporting cast (of liars) too. The political arena has become a mud hole of liars, cheaters and mud slingers. It makes it very hard to vote (for anyone). I always do it because it is my right, but what a bunch of crooks. Who can you really believe?
