Looks Like I'll Have Power In My Teardrop.

After keeping an eye out for teardrop parts on Ebay, I found a Fuse Panel/Converter to run all my lights and accessories. The unit has a built in charger that will charge the battery whenever the camper is hooked up to 110V power. Here's what I got last night. What do you guys think?


Unit Description:
Extreame Power Products RV5055 Power Converter. This "ALL IN ONE" RV5055 has three main sections for RV electrical Power (1) 120 VAC to 12 volts DC POWER CONVERTER (2) AC distribution panel max 8 branches with main breaker (3) DC distribution panel with main 15 branches. POWER CONVERTER SECTION The RV5055 Converter will supply 55 amps at nominal output of 13.6 volts DC with input voltages that ranges from 105-130 VAC. Output provides DC voltages to recharge 12 volt battery, power rv low voltage components and sensitive elesctronic products.12 VOLT DC DISTRIBUTION PANEL The DC distribution panel is equiped with 15 fused branch circuits and 2 main fuses to the converter. Lugs for the battery positive (+) and Negative (-) leads are also located on this panel board. AC DISTRIBUTION PANEL This panel has all the AC circuit breakers for up to 8 of the branch circuit and the converter. The dual main circuit breaker is rated for 50 amps at 120/240 VAC. Anybody that wants to park next to me to get charged up is more than welcome. Apparently I have enough juice for everybody. I already have 3 inside 12volt light fixtures, 2 Galley 12 Volt Light Fixtures, DVD/TV, Car Stereo, and heater for my Teardrop. Hopefully I'll have enough hook-ups.

To answer the question about how much it set me back, I paid $129 +$15 shipping and handling on Ebay. I have purchased all my light fixtures as well off Ebay and about to buy my Fantastic Vent Fan next. There are good deals on RV parts but you have to shop around. I always check on other sites and compare prices before I buy. The Power Panel normally sells for like $230-275 through most RV Parts PLaces so I didn't do too bad.

Hi Sandman! I just noted you are in Arlington TN. Where is that located in Tennessee? I did mapquest and saw three possibilities (Memphis area, Clarksville area, and Knoxville area).

Ebay does have the fantastic vent and among the listings is a BUY IT NOW in Pigeon Forge in East Tennessee (home to Dollywood)

Arlington is located just a few miles from Memphis in West Tennessee. Thanks for the head's up on the fan. Just trying to decide which model to get. They have so many choices.

Hi again, Sandman - I am in East Tennessee near Knoxville.

I have not bought one yet, but will soon (It's on my list) . I will probably go for the 5000 with the three reversable switch settings, and thermostat. As you said, tho, there are several options.

The one on ebay goes for $149.49 including $19.50 shipping.

Knoxville is some beautiful conutryside. My wife And I pass through there on the way to Gatlinburg every October when we got on vacation. We usually stay in a cabin in Pigeon Forge but I have a feeling we'll be teardropin' in the mountians from now on..

That unit you are looking at looks pretty cool. I say what the hell and just go for it. Put the best components in your teardrop now or you'll regret it later.

I see it has a fan , do you think you could use the heat off it to help in cold camping ?
