Good question John.

Ira,

Is it time for me to send the self-addressed plain brown envelope yet? :D

I just signed on off on the proofs, and it'll go to press today or tomorrow.

It took them like two weeks to get the proof to me, because first, I didn't want to rush them at all since they're doing it as a freebie, and second, I had a lot of work in with them for my regular job.

But I have to tell you:

This thing is spectacular beyond belief. Way above my expectations on how well I thought it would proof out.

You see, nowadays, a lot of presses are direct to plate. That means they don't first output film, then engrave the plates, and then set the plates on the press. On these new CTP presses (computer to plate), the computer sends the info tdirectly to the plates on the press and engraves them right there in one step.

But why am I boring you with this crap?

Dear Ira,

It's not a "bother", and for some people, its NOT "crap", but you are probably doing it because you are very proud of your labor of Love....and you should be. It's been a dream/desire of yours to do this type publication for a long while. Those of us who have followed you since you first "conceived" this idea are relieved that the "pregnancy" is now over and you've given birth to your "baby". We are certain we'll hear more stories to come as the period of growth continues. Best wishes,

TDN
