I'm actually getting excited...

Having just completed a two year long oddesy, working on a local theater restoration project... Tonight is the grand opening and that lovely lady TDN is taking me to the gala event which concludes with a performance by Kenny Rogers!
Tickets were $200.00 a pop and she thought we should go rub elbows with the mucky-mucks of this community.

All in all, it was a very fullfilling project, allowing me to take my glasswork to the next level. (The architect actually listened to and took my advice with what and on how I wanted to procceed with my work)
On most of my larger commercial jobs, I can't wait to get the heck outta there, but on this one... It was almost sad to realize that I was finished, knowing I wouldn't be going back.
Tonight's event should be a fitting way to fill that sad empty hole I've felt since Monday.
One of the last things I did on the project was mirror work on the "stars" dressing room. I spent just about the whole weekend in that room and when I went back Monday morning to check the mirror sets, they had the room all decked out with plush furniture. I took a few moments to kick back in each and every furnishing, so I could say, "I parked my butt in the same chair that Kenny Rogers did!"

Hi Dean, I've had a look at the restoration pages. Neat job. Being in the building industry myself, I can understand that sense of fulfillment and emptiness upon completion. Well done, mate, and enjoy the show.

Cheers
Paul

Dean, I worked on the retoration of the FOX theater in Detroit. Opening night to see it in all it's intended splendor was worth every penny I spent on tickets and every hour I'd spent on the job. Happy to see these beautiful ladies brought back out.

The constant "Din" for pictures makes me wonder if we aren't all living very boring lives and looking for a bit of "Vicarious" entertainment!

Okay, well at least I am! 8)

Dean,
Great work. The satisfaction you get when a job is finished, priceless. I love these old theatres. They have so much more character then the mega-plex multi theatre complexes.

Good Job!

Dear Dino,

It looks great and you are properly proud and entitled to savor all the praise you will certainly get. It has been amazing to finally see pics from the theater after listening to you speak about it for the last two years. Big Time Congrats.
Regards,

Guy
