Hams and Dayton Hamfest

Postby Jimbo » Sat Jan 13, 2007 10:45 pm

I know there are a few hams on here. I was wondering if anyone was attending the Dayton Hamfest this year. I have reserved a spot at the Dayton KOA and plan on being there Thursday night. If anyone else is going, let me know and we'll get together for a bite to eat or something. I am KG4FLJ. They have WiFi so I may set up a webcam while I'm there just for giggles.

I've been several times but usually just spend Friday there. This year, I plan on spending the whole weekend up there.

It's probably one of the largest gathering of amateur radio exhibits east of the Mississippi. Fun time. Lots of vendors, presentations and people. Some really good deals on radio gear to be had. I'm just starting to get back into radio so I hope to pick up a few things. Here's the link to it. There's no way I can do it justice so I'll let them speak for themselves. ;) http://www.hamvention.org/

My company will be one of the main manufacturers there! I use to be in sales few years back. I personally, don't go to the Hamvention anymore, but my co-workers will attend. Look at my location, and you can guess which company I work for.

P.S. How about some pics of your amateur radio installations in your TD. Who has the most complete portable station? Actually, that would be a great catalyst to get more people interested in TD building. Display a decked out amateur radio TD! hi hi!

Jimbo:
That is a great idea.
There are several HAMS in the group that make the Hamfest. 8)
I would like to be there this year; but I do not know if I can get off from work that weekend. Even thought I have vacation time saved for that weekend and the week after that I need to use up. My problem is a place to stay on such a short notice ( pending aproval of that weekend ).
I will try to make it if I can.
