Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Magazine

Postby PaulC » Sat Feb 10, 2007 12:00 am

One of our Members(cannot remember who 8) was talking about bringing out a whacked out Magazine. Does anyone on the Forum have any idea what happened with this idea and who the said member was or is?

Cheers
Paul

I'm getting a little pissed that I don't have them in my hands yet to mail out, but they haven't been bound yet.

The printer has had the files for about a month. It took two weeks for me to see the press proofs--which isn't all that unordinary--but I should have had my printed copies by NOW.

I can't really complain to him, because he's doing it for me for nothing, and I guess he just keeps putting it on the bottom of his list in favor of the paying jobs.

He obviously has his priorities all screwed up.

That's one of the drawbacks of getting it for free. One of my buddies has his website (blog) hosted by one of his friends from high school. Whenever something gets screwed up, all he can do is tell him about it, and it will get fixed when it gets fixed. He can't really complain when it takes too long because he's hosting it for free in the first place.

The thing is that he's doing a top-notch quality job on it and all. It's not like he's cutting corners by not supplying the right proofs, etc. He IS treating it from a production standpoint like a regular job, but not time-wise.

The color proofs were outstanding, because it's being done on one of the latest to greatest CTP (Computer to Press) presses.

What's frustrating is how much I've been TALKING about the damn thing to everyone (and you guys know that if anyone can talk, it's me), but until I can drop this madness into people's hands, it's impossible to explain the depths of depravity that this mag actually sinks too.
