Hello All,
Steve Rogers from Western North Carolina & man can you find anything on the net!

A little short story as to how I got here:
I fly Radio Control Helicopters & do alot of traveling to weekend events & usually end up sleeping in the back of my truck which isnt all that bad but when you add all my flying gear, well lets just say its not what you want to scrooch up to at night! Any way at the last event a friend of mine showed up with a Little Guy trailer & I thought to my self man thats the way to go! Upon looking at the price of them the thought came to mind to forget that! So I got to thinking why not build one of my own & searching the net I've found allmost everything I need to know!

I'm looking at building the Weekender http://www.mikenchell.com/weekender/index.html
& still have a few questions on a few things. The building & wiring will be no problem the things I dont know much about is getting it sealed up at the joints so as not to leak & making, buying or what ever doors & windows. Can one of you shoot me some links to info on these 2 subjects??

Sealing the ends depends on how you build it. You can trim with aluminum, wood or just paint or epoxy. If you are painting your options are of course greater.

Small world...that's exactly the same reason I built my teardrop. I also fly R/C helis. I've had my teardrop all the way to IRCHA the last two years. I think I have read some of your posts on one of the heli forums, the Freak.

Anyway, good luck with your build, I know you will enjoy it, and you've come to the right place.

I used to CRASH RC planes.

As soon as my friend and I finished building one, we crashed it. We almost killed a guy one time, too.

Our first plane was a prebuilt, and we had no idea of the POWER of these things. So a guy is practicing his golf putting in a local park, our plane is dive-bombing right for him at top speed, and my friend pulls it up and saves his life at the last possible moment.

Instead of a galley in the back of your tear drop are you wanting to build a hangar for your helicopter? That could be pretty cool with slide out tool boxes and such, I can see the dazzling diamond plate aluminum now

Welcome to another R/C flier! I don't fly helis, but have been flying planes since 1972! Gas first, and now all electrics. I hope to use my tear to camp at the NEAT Fair electric meet in Downsville, NY in September, and maybe a few other events. I used to sleep in the back of my van with all my plane stuff like you did! The teardrop is MUCH better!
