Philadelphia and Gino's Cheese Steaks

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

My 2 cents for what it's worth. I get frustrated with the people that have lived in this country for years and years and still don't try to learn the language. I fully understand the travler needing help and am more than happy to help. But when a person is living and holding a job they should try and learn the language.

I recently heard of a pizza place in Texas that accepts pesos! According to the census bureau, hispanics will be the majority in something like 2052, so if you're planning on being alive then you might want to learn a second language! I learned french in high school and it turned out to be almost useless, I have picked up enough spanish to get in serious trouble, and spanish is just close enough to portegeuse to completed screw you up. I can however order beer in nearly 100 languages  :guzzle:

Can you believe what's going with the BANKS:

I forget which one(s), but they'll open an account for you even if you don't have an SS number and you're illegal.

This makes no sense at all, because part of our system is to pay your taxes, or they can at least track your assets through your SS #.

In other words, if I sell hot dogs, a strictly cash business, and I utilize a bank account, at least the government now knows that I have a source of income--and if they don't see a matching tax return for that SS #, they know something's not kosher.

Or at least they're supposed to.
Here we go again!
