Hmmmmm everything needs to be made from diamond plate steel or aluminum. Windows have to be covered with diamond plate covers, and padlocked closed.

Doors need to have deadbolts in them, and the hinges need to be buried inside. Did I mention that you need 4 deadbolts in each door, one in each corner. You could do the same thing with the window.

To prevent driving off with a teardrop, you need a removable tongue, and a locking wheel chock on each wheel.

Combine that with locking wheel lug nuts and anti-reversing screws, and I think you'll be good.

Use bullet proof glass in the windows, and forget about a roof vent.

Golly Mike, I told you a million times, don't over exaggerate!!  ;)

Hi Will!

I looked at your pictures and I think you have a really nice build going on. Keep it up!

As far as security is concerned, if you make your own windows, you can use Lexan - quarter inch thick will stop a 45 caliber bullet(don't remember from what distance - 10 yds, I think). The downside is it scratches easily.

Gun placement - if you forgo the roof vent you could put a nice little turret up there and in the galley you could put a coupla' rocket launchers, a la James Bond cars... ;)

Instead of welding screws, just use stainless and strip them out with a drill bit when you're done - it'll probably happen anyway 'cause stainless is so soft.

I acutally managed to get some of the double pane thermal vinyl whatever you call it snazzy windows... at 5 and 10 bucks each, brand new but dirty, from window place. They seem pretty solid, but who knows. At least I will be warm before I get shot. As for the roof turret, I like your thinking. I could even have it remotely controlled from inside my car while driving down the highway. Slow moving Fast-lane squatters beware.... Stripping screw heads is a good idea.. only problem is no way for me to get them out.. I liked the idea of welding the edge because I could grind it off and get the screw loose if I needed to. Actually I seem to catch wood on fire whenever I weld near it...... 2 garage fires and counting   . Someone else could do the same, but again, its the balance. My dad always said if they want it that bad, just let them have it, they probably need it more than I do.  I'm off to build my prototype bike TD framebefore the woman gets home and stops me from cutting up her bedframe 8) 8)
