The Rag Has Arrived--See New Red Text At Top

Postby Ira » Thu Feb 22, 2007 3:57 pm

My mailbox here was 100% full, so if anyone tried to PM me with a mailing address for a copy and failed, try it now.

Weighing down my truck right now is 5,000 issues of the worst rag of a magazine to ever hit South Florida.

I'm taking off tomorrow, and this weekend, I'll be addressing the labels to get copies to all of you who contacted me with your full information.

I'm afraid--VERY afraid.

At my bar near work, during lunch, I saw like a 90-year-old woman pick up a copy and laugh her ass off.

90 wasn't the demographic I was going after.

I told my wife that I was expecting an unusual magazine, my son said "Is it PORN?" I couldn't honestly tell him it wasn't. The whole family is now awaiting a weird magazine from Florida that is NOT to be thrown out with the rest of the junk mail.

Ira, please send two to Doug Hodder. It will give me a good excuse to go and see the Rocketear. Thanks, Dan

I'm waiting for a brown wrapped mag in my mailbox.
Can I testify in your behalf from across the country? Like others, I'd be happy to help with shipping costs.

I sent you my info once I believe, if not let me know and I'll send it again, I gotta see this.
Congrats on the finished product.
One question tho. Are you impressed with it? That's usually the determining factor. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Holy crap:

I didn't log on last night, and I see I got 17 PMs. Will be sending them out before Monday.

To answer the above question, whether I'm proud of it, well--I wish it was 68 pages instead of 52. I know that design-wise it's perfect for its purposes, but you gotta understand that I've been staring at these pages for 3 months.

However, the reaction that i got at the bar yesterday after work was outstanding. People thet I knew and knew weren't just blowing smoke up my ass were laughing harder than I ever heard them laugh...people I didn't know were laughing at it, showing certain pages to their friends...and two friends of mine committed to advertising in the next issue. They said that no, it wasn't something they would be afraid to be associated with.

One female bartender, a new one who I didn't know, called me an asshole--because I have a photo in there of a Coral Springs cop car with the license plate retouched to say "I Brake For Tits." It seems her boyfriend is a cop, and she took offense at that.

Go figure! You wind up sweating the big stuff, and it's the stupid little stuff that annoys people.

Can't wait to get it around time the next few weeks.
Here we go again!

 What he said. Having a publisher in house might be kinda fun. 8) We can all get our names in the mag rag. ;)

Enjoy your success!
