Yesterday, copies of the rag were sent to the folks below. If you gave me an address long ago and you ain't on the list here, let me know.

I used your user names to protect the innocent. Also, since I now have so many of your real names and addresses, don't blame me if your house gets robbed the next time you're at a TD outing.

Also, so many of you live in such nice sounding, idyllic places, like Oak Street, Rainbow Trail, Tiffany Trail, etc.--unlike me, who grew up in 1260 East 85th Street, Brooklyn.

I hand-wrote the labels for good karma, but don't try to analyze my personality by this excuse for handwriting. Also, I WASN'T drunk when I stuck the stamps on, but it's sure gonna look that way to a lot of you.

As usual, there's always a story with me...and it's usually not a good one.

I pull into the post office parking lot, grab one envelope with the rag in it to run in for a weight check, slam the door, and then realize that I did something I haven't done in 30 years:

I locked my freaking keys in the truck.

I had to walk about a mile and a half home, none of my neighbors were around to drive me back, I missed a bus by 3 seconds, so I had to walk a mile and a half BACK--and it was HOT yesterday.

Man, am I out of shape. I almost COLLAPSED, and there wasn't ONE bar open along the route. So much for karma.

It's amazing you mention this:

I've been doing a Wolfgang Puck recipe for years that I saw him do on TV--roasted pork rack with maple sugar and carmelized onions.

Except we ain't GOT no maple sugar down here at all, and I've looked EVERYWHERE. So I've been doing it from day one with a mix of light and dark brown.

Believe me--this isn't a hint for you to send me the sugar, but I was actually thinking about making this dish TONIGHT, and there you are, mentioning maple sugar.

On second thought, can you get it here to Florida in an hour and a half?

Ira-

Thanks...........

Now I hope the Post Office will deliver it.

Now I have to figure out what will be the best way to read it.
